being who you really are: first, to thine own self be true
ByGood Day Everyone,
President Obama was interviewed by Bill O’Reilly during Super Bowl XLV. About 9 minutes into the interview, the President confides that the worst part about his job is being “in the bubble”. He feels he cannot have spontaneous conversations with others and he has become much more guarded. O’Reilly says his close friends report he is much more guarded.
What would it look like if the President just continued to be Who He Really Is..funny, smart, spontaneous and more free in his job? In so doing he would bring his best of Self to the world. Everything goes better with humor, even the Presidency. What would it look like if we were each less concerned with what others thought about us, and more concerned with how we feel within our selves? What would it look like if each of our primary concern was how Good we felt? Feeling Good, of course, is the measure of how aligned one is with Self…Source – Well Being. That is what Shakespeare was referring to when he wrote,
"This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man." Polonius to his son, Laertes in Hamlet This is applied spirituality. When we are true to Self, we feel Good. Our human mind is in alignment with Source (Well Being); then and only then are we a gift to the world. Try it for a day. Feel Good within, first; then go out into the world and offer yourself. Waters will part; tides will shift and influence will be felt...easily. Here's the video of the interview. Thanks for reading!
