Play: The Cure-All

Good Morning Everyone,

It’s snowing – yet again – here in the Cleveland area, another foot is expected. Meanwhile, my four year old neightbor, Hailey and her Dad were outside sled riding down the hill behind our apartments. I was watching and enjoying their play, when I realized that I wanted a turn down the hill.

Holy smoke! I haven’t done a sled run since I was a kid. I’ve done the grown up version of learning to snow ski, baby slopes and intermediate slopes, but an old fashioned get on the sled and ride….not so much. I bundled up and shyly approached, “Hey, can I have a turn?” Both father and daughter were delighted and responded “Yeah! Sure!”

I hiked to the top with the sled, a sleek red plastic model and took my seat. With a wee bit of rocking I was soon over the hump and speeding my way down the packed snow. It felt like flying. The snow in my face and on my tongue was delicious and as I hit the bottom, I toppled over sideways becoming a human snowman. I was laughing and giggling just like I were 4 years old myself.

Now, there’s a work break. You might like to try it or some version of it. My Spirit was/is thrilled! I am refreshed and feel great! Now, where was I…oh, right, a new idea just came to me. Imagine that.

Thanks for reading,

Kath
