Good Morning Everyone!

Cultivate the Good Thoughts; Weed Out the Rest

I love gardening. I wish everyone would garden; it’s so therapeutic, illuminating and rewarding. I’m getting ready to plant seed trays in preparation for planting my garden outside around Memorial Day. All winter I’ve poured over seed catalogs drooling over the new varieties and wanting to experiment with new crops. Alas, I am a box gardener and have limited space. I have to choose the seeds I want for the space I have to grow. I’m an equal opportunity gardener; if a quality seed sprouts (and usually they do), I just can’t seem to toss it onto the compost heap; no, I have to give the little plant its chance. Not so, though, for thoughts. I have learned through gardening to pluck out the ones I don’t want to mature into manifestation.

Thoughts are like seeds. Whatever you nurture grows. So becoming a deliberate creator of your life experiences starts with cultivating the Quality thought seeds. You can sort through the thought catalog and choose the ones you want to harvest come the fall; or you can, by default, grow whatever the winds and birds carry to your mind like dandelions or mustard.

I started weeding as a child. My Dad handed me a long tool with a forked end together with an empty coffee can. My instructions were to pull the weed out by it’s roots. We didn’t use chemicals. Since then weeding has become a favorite meditation; every thought I identify as a weed that I’m not willing to cultivate in my garden (mind), I pull it out (let it go), and then, of course, turn my focus to the ones I want to get bigger and thrive. To those I give my full attention.

As you choose your quality seeds, carefully consider what “crop” you are planting and nurturing. Even if you’re a container gardener like I am, gardening is a lovely reminder to weed out those erroneous thoughts and feed the good ones for a delicious harvest of lovely life adventures. This is Applied Spirituality.

Want to start your seeds? This will help you get started.

letting go ego not a part-time effort

Good Morning Everyone,

Recently working with several clients, it has become apparent to me that there is a point where people become very desperate to change their lives, but fail to realize that it takes a full time focus, sustained effort and single minded intent. Last fall I undertook such an effort and realized great resistance to it. These are the forces of inertia and momentum in a wrong direction.

Runaway thoughts have momentum just like a runaway train.

Momentum, of course, is a quantity expressing the motion of a body or system, equal to the product of the mass of a body and its velocity. In the case of inner work, the mass of body is the sum of the false beliefs that are active – what you are currently thinking and believing, therefore doing and the speed that you’re thinking them (automatically or consciously). The inner work is becoming aware of how these thoughts and ideas have automatic sway without conscious thought. The tail wags you. Slowing the momentum, then, is becoming aware of them and choosing a better thought; or stopping it; or becoming aware of it and “watching” it rather than acting on it…and then, letting it go. This is the process of slowing the momentum much like slowing a run-a-way train. Even when someone pulls the brakes on that train, it takes awhile for it to come to a stop. The intention and persistence to stay the course is required. Your full on willingness to not live the way you’ve been living, but to put your inner train on a new track.

Once the train has come to a stop, only then can you determine from a clear state how you feel and choose which new track feels best to you. This is the inertia, starting it up. Getting out of the old rut and creating a new track. In the physical mind you stop using the old neuropathway and create a new one. Habits of thought are beliefs that we have thought for a long time. They create a “rut”. If you’ve ever gotten your car stuck in a rut, one of the best methods of getting out of it is rocking the car back and forth in order to over come the inertia of being stuck. Back we let go of what’s been holding us and forward we are reaching for the new thoughts until that moment we gain the ridge of the ditch and we’re free. However, once again, this takes persistence.

The devotion to you is your commitment to your best life of being free of the pairs of opposites (bad/good) the duality of life; and knowing that you will enjoy enormously a life where you are aware of Who You Are – the Awareness, Itself, not the person in the play. Stay the course. Choose the way out, for there are many and Applied Spirituality is one. Then stick to it day after day and moment after moment. Soon, there will be a tipping point where you will have turned the train to it’s new track and have begun building momentum in that Good direction, free of the illusion of separation.

letting go human mind; finding Awareness

Good Day Everyone!

human mind says you are this; You are really That

Years ago when I first began my own transformation, I was told to “let go”. I wanted to strangle that person. Certainly, if I knew how to do that I would do it, right? Why would I hang onto something that caused me pain and suffering making happiness impossible? As the years went on, that question loomed bigger and bigger for me. How many times did I ask, “Oh, for Pete’s sake, won’t someone show me how to let go of what was, what is and this old, pitiful story?” I was sick of it; I was sick of recreating it…yet, the way to do that wasn’t clear until NOW.

The years went on and I learned more about human mind: it’s complexity, it’s incessant yammering, it’s falsity. I realized that the human mind was like the tail that wagged the dog. It ruled me and each person I knew. In fact, ego mind ruled the world. We suffer from the biggest illusion – the first illusion – Separation from Source, so therefore, human mind has become our false god.

If we think it, it must be so. If I can think, therefore I am…bosh. Yet, when you’re undertaking to write the opus of how it all works (the Universe, the World and the individual), there are many paths all leading you to the same Truth. After the Buddha wandered the planet suffering and witnessing all the suffering, he finally sat down beneath the Bodi tree and …LET GO. He surrendered. He gave up (his questioning and ego mind). Then it happened. He realized his Oneness – he realized the Presence of Awareness – he realized Who He Really Was.

Sounds like most of us, doesn’t it? Wandering the world, suffering within the drama of the human mind stories we make up about everything. The ego mind is the ultimate master of illusion, which is necessary to play the game on earth. But to be free is to realize you are not the story, the fear, the sickness, the mind – but the Awareness that is funding all the forms.

In walks Lester Levinson in the 1960′s and more recently the Sedona Method via Hale Dwoskin. My years of wandering in the desert to find the answer to my question of how to LET GO are over! You stop resisting it and welcome it in. Then you simply notice that you are not the story, the sensation, or the memory (idea, thought or belief). Then you notice what IS Present…Awareness. Oh sweet relief. Asked and answered!

Allow me to introduce you to Lester who figured all this out. Then we’ll explore the Triple Welcome Method tomorrow.

I want so much for us all to be free from the lie of separation. We are One with our Source, Awareness, always have been and always will be into eternity…and even right here, right now. Remember these…
“Yeah though I walk through the valley….Thou art With ME!” That Me is the Awareness.

“I will never leave thee nor forsake thee?” That I is the Awareness.
“I and my Father are One.” That I is the Awareness.
“I will keep thee in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on ME.” I and Me is the IAM Awareness…You.

Notice today, if you will, that Awareness is breathing you; seeing through you; hearing through you; enlivening you – not your human ego mind.

the new gerontology: thinking for yourself

Good Morning Everyone,

Just when I think a certain way, something or someone comes along to dispel my “traditional thinking” and examine where I might be inflicting limits on myself. Take Ida Keeling, for example. If I could, I’d hug her. Ida is a competitive runner at age 95. She began her running career at age 67.

I’ve always suspected that aging was optional, but when I look around for examples, they are few. Most people begin the slow, downhill decline around age 50. You hear them say, “I’m old.” or “At our age, ….” They have worked all their lives and now are buying one of those ubiquitous mobile homes traveling the country. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course; but what if there’s more? What if “retirement” is the beginning of something new and wonderful instead of step one towards decline and death? What if life could look like happy/healthy, happy/healthy, happy/healthy…dead? We are alive and vibrant until we step on over at a time and date of our  conscious choice with a big party?

I love the story of Ida Keeling, because she’s living whilst she’s alive and on the planet. She refuses others’ limitations as hers. She has chosen thoughts and ideas of her own and is living them out. She inspires me greatly. If Ida can begin running at age 67, then the path is wide open for me and everyone else to design a Quality Life into the triple digits of our own imagining. This is applied spirituality: allowing Infinite Intelligence to flow through our minds unobstructed by limiting beliefs, into our bodies and out into our physical creations.

The key? Drawing Life Force through you everyday. Allowing It to Flow fully through you (your mind and body) unobstructed by thoughts and beliefs of human mind that say you can’t do this, be this or have that. We are 96% Source Energy, Infinite Intelligence, God, Awareness call it what you will, and 4% physical body and human mind. Let the dog wag the tail, not the other way around.

Thank you Ida. I am grateful for your presence on the planet; and I am truly, deeply inspired to live fully all my days…my way. I’m going to help Ida write the new book on gerontology. How about you?

Thanks for reading!

astronomy, astrology, polar shifts & 2012

Hello Everyone!

Arctic map Resolute Bay in Canada (red) Siberia (yellow)

During the past few weeks I’ve been hearing about magnetic north shifting, so much so that the Tampa airport had to close a runway along with rumors of a new Zodiac sign and well the usual doomsday talk around 2012. Today I decided to do a little research and find out for myself what the recent hubub is all about.

Turns out magnetic north is always on the move. It was first charted in1831 by James Clark Ross who found it in Cape Adelaide. On the last expedition to locate it In 2001, it was determined by the Geological Survey of Canada to lie near Ellesmere Island in northern Canada at 81°18′N 110°48′W / 81.3°N 110.8°W / 81.3; -110.8 (Magnetic North Pole 2001) and moving at a clip of 40 km per year towards Siberia. Tick. Tock.

The Earth is a living breathing dynamic and ever changing entity. However, news such as this received by those of us ignorant of the science and half listening to the doomsday reports of 2012 can certainly evoke a case of the willies.

I used to get so confused when I was traveling in the West in the Dakotas and Montana. West of the Continental Divide the waters run towards the Pacific Ocean; East of the Continental Divide the waters run towards the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans. You don’t want to take “down stream” for granted there. What I’m pointing to is our lack of familiarity with this Earth. We live here, but we don’t pay much attention to her until something strange happens or maybe you stumble upon it; or you take up flying. But for most of us, we haven’t a clue what’s going on in the stars (Astronomy) or in the earth (geography) beyond Google Maps.

In January Paul Kunkle, an astronomy professor turned the Zodiac sign on its ear by suggesting that if you read the signs by the astronomy – science – the Astrological signs would be off by about a month. Not to mention that we’ve been ignoring a 13th sign all this time. People freaked not wanting to be reassigned to any different Zodiac sign.

What sense do I make of all this:

1. Things are changing; the Earth is changing; mankind is changing. Those are facts and we all ought to be getting relaxed with the idea of change. Adapt or perish.

2. The wealth of our ignorance is larger than our store of knowledge. We collect data at warp speed, but little do we sit quietly to digest what it means, how it all fits together. Rather we jump to superstitious and negative conclusions that come from….where was that?

3. It matter little whether I am a Cancer or a Gemini; I’m Me; you are You; we are One. That, dear people is the journey of Life and the story of Applied Spirituality. I’m part science; I’m part cosmology; I’m part Source Energy and all wonder and awe of my amazing adventure on this amazing Earth in this Infinite Universe. Does it get any better that that? The story of living in the elegance of Well Being just unfolds and gets better and better.

Thanks for reading!

Kath

PS Just for the record. I’m frequently asked if the world is going to end in 2012. Nope. We are creating everything. So unless we all pretty much agree it’s time to wrap it up and go “home” to nonphysical…plan on a few billion more years of fun.

designing a mind, creating a new reality

Good Day Everyone!

The deep freeze continues here in Ohio. I do love winter; the time when we go into our caves and dream of what we want next. This morning I came across a wonderful blog post by Don Tapscott in the Huffington Post. He writes about training our minds to expand so that we are more agile in the handling of multi tasks, mega data and technology. He suggests that children are already able to do these things, because they are using their minds in ways that we have not. Proof positive that the adaptation of the human body is a natural function resulting from our focus, our request to change.

Recently I spent time substitute teaching in the public schools and came away with a clear idea as to why our students aren’t doing so well when they are measured against other societies around the globe. They are not being encouraged to be who they are; they are asked to leave the best part of themselves at home; the atmosphere is one of fear and pressure; and they are not encouraged to have an original idea or thought. We do not encourage them to use their creativity, intuition, broader perspective, innate knowing and guidance. They are herded and made to memorize facts and data not encouraged to think for themselves or have an original thought; thus they do not become independent thinkers which is the prerequisite to innovation.

Within each of us is the potential to create anything we want. Don Tapscott speaks of the brains amazing plasticity and our ability to expand beyond what we are now. Well, of course! Another great source to read is David Shenk’s book, The Genius in All of Us. We need to set our children free in schools to be who they really are, the wondrous Creators they are. In order to do that we have to become unafraid and let go of our need to control them. They are not our clay to mold; they infinitely intelligent, wise and creative beings who belong to themselves, not us.

hydrogen vehicles are here!

Hello Everyone!

Hydrogen Bus in London photo courtesy of ridelust.com

I’m so excited! In 2000 I knew a guy who did an internship for the Hydrogen Institute in Arizona. I cannot find anything about it online at all now; nor can I recall the name of the man who spearheaded the Institute. At that time he told me that the Institute had been operating their trucks and cars on hydrogen for 20 years. In fact, he reported, that a $2000 investment would convert any car or truck into a duel fueled vehicle to gasoline and hydrogen. That was back in 2000.

I dream; I wish; I imagine and envision. This morning I see a wondrous item: England is launching a fleet of hydrogen buses! Guess what their emissions are? Water vapor. That’s it. Watch the video clip of hydrogen buses.

For about two years I have been participating in the Auto Insight Community. It’s a group that takes surveys for the American car industry. I decided to get involved, because I decided to stop complaining and put my advice into the minds of those who had the power to change things. You can too. Weekly we get a survey on various things: hybrids, electrics, dashboards, powertrain names…and weekly I use the last page, a blank, to tell them I’m not buying one of these electrics or hybrids when hydrogen has been around for over 30 years.

I am happy to report that we had a survey on hydrogen powertrain names just a few weeks ago! America is heading in the right direction; fear not! All is Well; ask and it is answered. The power is in shifting my internal state to realize the external shifts in the physical form. We are powerful Creators, we are!

Hello Everyone!

Around 1:00 am last night I woke up bright eyed and bushy-tailed. What the heck? I looked outside and saw the soft light of the moon on the snow covered ground. Then, I remembered it was the Winter Solstice and also a total lunar eclipse. I might just be able to see it if the cloud cover lifted over Cleveland. Still in nightgown and barefoot, I went out onto my balcony to check out the night sky. The stars were visible! Yes!! My cat yawned wondering what was going on as I hurriedly donned leggings, sweats and wool socks, noticing that the temperature was about 20 degrees.

I padded downstairs, made coffee and an egg, then piled on winter coat, gloves and boots. I stepped outside into the crisp night and there she was, the Moon in all her full glory boasting gorgeous. By 2 am the eclipse had begun and was complete by 2:41. I called a friend – several actually – as I wanted to share this with someone. As no one answered, I realized this expereince was for me to have with Me.

I lit a candle, fired up the white sage and put on Shamanic Dream by Anugama, music I found whilst studying Huna in Hawaii.  Using my breath to clear my human mind and allow connection with my Self, I began with appreciation for this moment, this life, this planet, this Universe and my unique place within it. I smudged myself, then my home, then walked through my neighborhood blessing it, the city, the state, the country, the world, all that is. Then I quieted my thoughts and allowed a blank screen and simply felt my Connection with Love.

I came away with the sense of new. That as the darkness covered the moon it was like looking back over the past where we have been unaware, asleep to Who We Really Are. As the glow of the moon returned by increments, it reminded me of raising a shade on a window to a new Spring day. The veil is lifting. We are coming awake; we are realizing our Oneness; we are ascending into the Christed Consciousness in 2011.

When I at last went back to bed at 4 am, I felt peaceful and calm. All is Well. We’re right on track. We are loved and supported beyond measure…Naturally.

If you missed it; enjoy the video courtesy of William Castleman of Gainesville, Florida. Thanks Bill!

what do you have full faith in

Good Day Everyone,

Once a month I write 4 entries for my free weekly message series. Today was that day as I wrote messages 85-88. Usually I cast about for a “monthly theme” so to speak, but this time it came roaring in as Faith. What do we have Faith in? What can we say without a shadow of a doubt that we would bet the farm on? The Law of Gravity? The Sunrise and Sunset? The Government? God?

Recently I had to have new house keys made. The gentleman making the new keys for me went on an on about how he’d lost Faith in humanity. I asked him if he had Faith in God? He responded that he had Faith in a strong lock. How sad, I thought. How very, very sad.

We are definitely being pried loose from our false sense of security. Every where we look something new is now unreliable, the government, unemployment benefits, our employers advice from our doctors. Our sense of safety and security is being rocked to the core forcing us to let go of our faith in externals, bringing us “home” to our sense of Self.

But even then, most of us don’t feel safe with ourselves. What can we count on? What can we have full Faith and Trust in after all?

There are the immutable Universal Laws that operate unfailingly, most famous of which is the Law of Attraction; but there are others, as well. And there is the immutable Truth that we each are an integral part of this elegant Universe with the ability to master our focus and create our own Reality.

You can and should take the time to become the master of your focus, your spirit, your energy. This is what Applied Spirituality is all about: remembering Who You Really Are, Source Energy in physical format and mastering the focus of your Energy, yourSelf.

Desire: Summoning Life Through You

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Good morning everyone,

Recently I came across this video of Paul Vasquez seeing a double rainbow at the Grand Canyon. I was particularly interested to watch it, as I’ve had the wondrous experience of seeing doubles and on one occasion a triple rainbow in Montana just after a storm. I totally understood his reaction. The thrill of lining up with Source Energy is what you’re hearing from him, because there are literally no words to describe the feeling of that alignment with God and It flowing through You in the moment. It’s so big; as he says, “intense”. Watch.

One might wonder how this incident came about for Paul.

Desire. Paul had a powerful desire, which summoned Source Energy to him.

Paul in someway at some time had the desire to “feel God”. It might have been verbal and conscious, it might not. It could have been unconscious and cellular; but a powerful desire to feel his Oneness with Source issued forth from him. Perhaps a prayer to “know God aright” or “to understand Reality”. Whatever the prayer, desire, the answer was tailored made just for him. The response, when allowed, is universal. We have no words.

Then, one day when he was relaxed and allowing It, he was witness to this event. He could appreciate it. He was available for it. He was willing to have the experience; so Paul let It in. The wonderful part is that he had his video cam on so that we could, in part, witness both the rainbow and his alignment with Source.

He kept asking through his tears of rapture, “What does it mean?”

It means, Paul, that you asked; and it was answered. It means that you aligned your human mind with your Godmind and had quite a moment of Oneness. It means that you are the deliberate Creator of all you experience. It means, your emotions are the indicator of your alignment or not. It means that everything you need to understand about Reality is there for you and all of us to “get”.

You don’t have to travel to the Grand Canyon and see a double rainbow to experience your Oneness. It’s available to you anytime you are desiring Love, Beauty, Goodness, Abundance, Health, etc. and you are looking for It, expecting It, and allowing It in. You’ll know It by the way it “knocks you over” with Well Being. It’s the way we ought to feel most of the time. Hmmm

Very well done, Paul, indeed! Thank you sooo much for sharing It with all of us.

Thanks for reading,

Kath
