Hope Eternal: Easter
Posted by: | CommentsHappy Easter Everyone!
The day has dawned here in Ohio glorious! As a matter of fact, it was 85 degrees here on Good Friday. Holy Toledo! And yesterday there was such wind and strange sky that I thought Dorothy and Toto would fly by followed in turn by the Wicked Witch on her bicycle followed by the house. Alas, no such storm came to pass, but engendered much thought.
I love Easter and all the weeks leading up to it, because I am put into the mind to review the things I harbor in my mind that might block my realization of Love. What are we to give up during lent and then, forevermore? Everything the human mind holds as truth, which is false. Such as, you might wonder? Well for starters that there is anything to fear or worry about! We are to crucify all our false beliefs: I am not enough; the world is a dangerous place; that man-idea-philosophy is my enemy, for starters.
I look out upon the world and at my garden boxes where the crocus, tulips and daffodils are blooming in great cheer. Even the garlic and herbs are popping up, as well as the peonies. As I drove home yesterday I saw the willow wearing a dress of the slightest green, whilst the forsythia were more showy in a burst of yellow. Life Is! Life is eternally, always, springing forth, re-emerging at the same time every year – give or take a few weeks. An elegant design, wouldn’t you say? A design so elegant that we need give no thought to it, except perhaps to appreciate it.
And so, too, is each life, an inherent and integral part of this eternal Universal dance, this elegant design. We, also, have the ability to re-emerge – to resurrect our lives – over and over again.
Last evening I had word of a friend who passed away on Good Friday. Along with that news of others in distress or difficulty. These are the crucifixions of a life, the crucibles, meant for us to let go of anything that hinders us from experiencing the fulfillment of Love in and through our minds and bodies as we create here on Earth. Everything and everyone is an opportunity to release our resistance to Love and surrender into the Truth of our beingness, which is God, Itself.
In the Christian tradition today there is great celebration honoring the One who died and was resurrected. Jesus would have us understand that His message was and still is one of Love. That in every life there are many crucifixions and therefore, many opportunities for resurrection into a higher Consciousness of Love, the Christed Consciousness. If someone is in your life, Love them. Above all else, Love your Self. This is our growing edge, to become More Love right here on earth and for our creations to contain more Life.
What Would It Take for You to Stop Being Afraid?
Posted by: | CommentsGood day everyone!
Last evening I watched the movie, V for Vendetta. It was released almost exactly 4 years ago, somehow I missed it then.
I was impressed with the film altogether. Thought provoking, intelligent, well written, acted, filmed, etc. The take away for me was contained in the scene sequences where Evey is put through prison and interrogation, where she stops being afraid of her own death and is free from fear to choose an action that she otherwise wouldn’t have been able to even see as a choice.
In the movie there takes place much discussion of the word terrorist. But as I watched it, I came to see more clearly than every before that a terrorist, by my definition, is anyone or anything that preys on your fears. Fear being the ultimate oppressor of a life well and fully lived.
I participate in an auto survey group. Once a week we are sent a survey (and I am sure these are commissioned by the American car manufacturer). They use us as a focus group, what do we think of this, that, etc. Last week the survey was to my mind, repulsive. The survey began with a commercial where it’s a dark night, a deer jumps in front of car, there’s a crash and the car’s onboard satellite system sends the life saving message to send help (thanks to the onboard gps system). We were to rate this commercial. Then, we were to rate this commercial in light of Toyota’s recent problems. Did we now feel better about Chevy or not? How do we now feel about Toyota?
Fear. They prey on your fears. They market to your fears. You now think that you’re not safe in a Toyota; but with this onboard satellite system in a Chevy, you are now “safe”, once again.
My feedback on the commercial to GM?
This is a time when real leadership would be attempting to lead Americans back into the idea of Well Being, strength and courage. Real leadership would acknowledge that we, as a people and individually create the whole of our destiny and future. We are capable. We are strong in love. We are innovative and creative. We are fearless in the face of any challenge, because we believe in ourselves.
To prey on people’s fears, to exacerbate fear, to imply they “need” help because they are unable to help themselves is loathsome and shameful. This commercial and most of the marketing messages are all about fear.
The trouble is, they get to you because you “buy in”. Now I ask you once again? What would it take for you to become unafraid and live your life as a free person. The real terrorist is fear presented to you a million times a day. When will you stop buying? It’s your free-will choice, wholly and completely your decision. If not now, when?

Earthquakes and Consciousness
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
I have been pondering powerful earthquakes. Having lived in Southern California for 30+ years, I’ve felt my share of temblors. For example the 1994 Northridge event which measured a 6.7. However, here are a list of quakes that have occurred so far this year:
- Magnitude 8.8 OFFSHORE MAULE, CHILE February 27, 2010
- Magnitude 7.0 RYUKYU ISLANDS, JAPAN February 26, 2010
- Magnitude 6.9 CHINA-RUSSIA-NORTH KOREA BORDER REGION February 18, 2010
- Magnitude 5.9 OFFSHORE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA February 04, 2010
- Magnitude 7.0 HAITI REGION January 12, 2010
I notice these things because I’m in the consciousness business which requires me to keep growing and expanding my own consciousness. To this end I’ve been taking a very intensive 7 week class which quite frankly has been kickin’ my wee butt. It’s not easy letting go of false beliefs, opening your heart and connecting with your own Center, leaving behind the old ways and embracing the new. It’s not easy for any of us. If it were, we’d all have already done the work and well, wouldn’t the world look a whole lot different that it currently does?
The reason I equate earthquakes with consciousness work (personal growth and development) is that they feel the same inside as an earthquake experience does in the physical world. The ground you “walked on” ( the old beliefs you embraced) are no longer there. It truly feels like your internal tectonic plates are shifting and upheaving literally leaving you with no internal horizon for awhile.
I’m just wondering if the magnitude of recent quakes in Chile, Haiti, San Fran, Japan and Russia are actually mirroring the great internal shifts happening within mankind…

I Am My Supply: Thoughts on Self Responsibility
Posted by: | CommentsGood Morning Everyone,
It occurred to me this morning that the television talk shows, punsters, and reality shows are all about “selling blame”. It’s about exploiting the idea of victimhood. The Republicans would have you believe it is the liberals that are going to sell your safety out; the liberals would have you think that it is the Republicans who are responsible for your fear. Your spouse, mother, father, great Aunt Tilda is responsible for your current situation. If not them, then it’s the state of the economy, it’s the lack of jobs, it’s the weather, it’s ….you fill in the blank.
It’s all about “them” and never about you. So you’re the victim to “them”. When the heck are we going to step up to the plate and realize that I am the creator of my experience, individually and collectively?
Did you really come to planet earth to play the role of victim? Did you really say to yourself, “Wow, I want to know what it feels like to feel powerless and inconsequential?” Did you imagine your journey on earth would be fun if you were to think of yourself as powerless?
I don’t think so.
Beware of anyone trying to make you more aware of feeling helpless and a victim. Anyone who exploits those feelings in you is manipulating you into thinking you are prey in life. And by God, you are not – unless, of course, that’s the role you consciously choose to play.
The deeper truth is this: you are certainly the creator of your experience, every bit of it. So, if you don’t like the experience you’re currently having, change it. Stop believing you are the victim. Stop believing “they” have all the cards. Stop believing that you are ineffectual, inconsequential and powerless. Just bloody well give it up. You are the Creator. You create your experience by what you believe to be true about yourself.
If you think you’re a victim, you will create every circumstance to prove that to be true for you by the Law of Attraction. If you believe yourself to be inconsequential and ineffectual, you will create those people and circumstances to prove that belief to be true, for you.
The way you change the channel is by taking responsibility for the experiences you are creating. What’s my part in this? How did I create this? What do I believe about myself? Once you get to that, you can CONSCIOUSLY shift that belief to value who you are. Once you exchange powerless to powerful, you start seeing a whole different set of people and circumstances show up to prove those new beliefs to be true.
Step up to the plate. You are Creator. Whatever you believe deep within yourself is what you will manifest. There’s no one to blame. It’s simply time to “pick up thy bed and walk”. You’re not dead, you’re not powerless, you’re not inconsequential. You’re powerful Creator. You are your supply.
Time to do the inner work, the work of personal growth, of Self-responsibility.
The 2000′s: Contraction into Fear; Platform for 2010 Expansion
Posted by: | CommentsHappy New Year Everyone!
How the heck did a whole decade go by? Seems like just yesterday we were all wondering if we would disappear as of New Year 2000 and the new millennium. Remember? You just gotta laugh at us humans with our fears and superstitions, eh?
In retrospect, which I think every New Year affords us – a review of where we have been so that we might choose more consciously where it is we would like to go, here’s what I see.
The decade of the 2000′s was a major “contraction” into fear. We began in fear in 1999 with Y2K and we built on the fear theme full throttle for the first 4 years. At every opportunity to choose “not fear”, we chose more fear. The 2000′s saw the initiation of the Patriot’s Act in October, 2001 and the formation of the Department of Homeland Security in November of 2002 to protect freedom. In 2003 the Department of Immigration and Naturalization was absorbed into the Department of Homeland Security, as the witch hunt for terrorists increased and our personal freedoms decreased.
This contraction brought into question whether we were willing to give up some of our personal freedoms for the sake of safety. Each of us, of course, weighed this question up for ourselves as the reality of these new laws impinged on us personally in airport lines or other encounters. These encounters caused us to reevaluate, rethink, and reconsider the “price of safety” and the opportunity to choose again.
Meanwhile at a grassroots level, a body of new thought was taking root: the Law of Attraction. Could it be that we are the Creators of all of our own reality. If so, how the heck did we co-create (attract) the attacks of 911? The evolution of mankind in consciousness seemed to be interwoven with the physical events taking place on Earth.
America became increasingly unpopular across the globe going to war in Iraq and with other uncharacteristic acts of aggression/imperialism launched from a place of fear, greed and lack. Now, if one was looking with the desire to see, on the global screen one could see in living technicolor how beliefs and thought vibrations create “reality” on earth. From 2204-2008 this pattern continued with more fear creating more actions out of fear culminating in the financial crisis and the near bank collapse.
As the 2008 campaign geared up it was clear that this election was a “consciousness” election, rather than political. There were those who were unwilling to change and those who were sick of the fear and wanted to break free and create a world anew.
The Presidential Election of 2008 was not just an American event, but was a global event reflecting a world tired of living in fear and wanting to expand into more freedom, more joy, and more good.
2009 was the year of stopping a runaway freight train traveling at breakneck speed in an unwanted direction. There was a lot of momentum to the fear train. 2009 wasn’t so much of a building year, as it was putting on the brakes and stopping the slide into even more fear. New ideas that were long suffering found a time to be heard. We’ve spent a year sorting through ideas, beliefs and thought forms, much like cleaning out the American attic and basement, deciding which ones we will use to build the new future on and which we will recycle into the cosmic mind.
The 2009 debate on a health care reform is the first place where we are attempting new thought. However healthcare reform is only in its infancy as integrating New Thought into mainstream policy is only in its infancy. As of now, it is still largely based in fear and lack, missing completely the idea that the individual is sovereign in choosing Well Being, or not; and that if allowed, the body’s default position is wellness, not sickness.
This is where we find ourselves this brand New Year , 2010. We are on the cusp, a pivot point where New Thought and mainstream may or may not merge. It is an evolutionary process, not a revolutionary process. However, this time there is some mass and momentum for New Thought to actually begin shaping our future back into Oneness and Well Being.
It’s the most exciting time to be alive on planet Earth. We wouldn’t have missed this for anything!
We are choosing our future, creating it as we go, one thought at a time, one persona at a time. How cool is that?

I’m actually building my new website myself in WordPress!

This Too Shall Pass
Posted by: | CommentsGood Morning Everyone,
Recently Woody the Cat has been suffering a bout of agoraphobia. Seriously! This is the same Woody the Cat about whom I have written previously. Mr. Neighborhood Ambassador, hunter extraordinaire.
It’s been a wee bit disconcerting. For about a month he’s always here. Except for potty breaks, I hadn’t witnessed him out and about, roaming, stalking, playing at all. This was couple with his being my second shadow, always doing his infinity movement at my legs, under foot, curled up tightly ON TOP of me.
“Woody,” I would say, “what’s going on little buddy?” He actually spoke back to me with pathetic little squeaks or tiny sounds of explanation, known only to him. And he was sneezing, little tiny ‘ah choo’s‘. A cold? A burr up his nose? A case of poison ivy? Yet, he wasn’t sick, just in an extreme state of quietude and introversion.
This went on for about a month, until Sunday night last around midnight. I scooped him up and said, “Buddy, you and I are going for a walk.”
It was a really beautiful night, starts out – especially where there were no street lights. I set him down on the side walk and coaxed, “Come on, Woodyman, let’s just stroll about for awhile.” I’d walk on ahead and look back to see his little shadowy figure sitting stock still on the sidewalk. I could almost hear him weighing up his options: run back for the cat door or follow me.
When we lived in the mountain in San Diego with mountain lions, coyotes, owls, rattlesnakes, and bobcats, Woody the Cat and I would frequently go for night strolls, especially during the full moon. He loved these walks! He would shoot up one tree, leap to another and down again presenting himself back along side of me. “Did you see that!” And of course, I did. I would cheer and clap my hands for him.
Now we were in the cityscape, and here was my fearless cat, scared to move.
“Come on, little guy, you can do this. See? Nothing scary out here.”
Just then, a neighbor comes out her front door with dog on leash. I looked down to see Woody in a crouch. A good sign, I thought, he’s not running but in the I’m ready for anything stance.
There he is! He’s back.
We walked on for awhile just enjoying the summer night together like old times. When we got back to my unit, I reacquainted him with the cat door.
That night he brought me a present: not exactly sure what it was.
I’ve often thought our domestic pets are like live-in angels. They take on some of emotional burdens and process them for us, so loyal and loving are they. Perhaps he was dealing with some of my stuff, of which I was no aware.
At any rate, it is love that gets any of us from Point A to Point B. Woody the Cat has loved me through all the patches of my own human journey, and it was time to return the favor.
It’s been about a week now since our midnight jaunt, and Woody is definitely back. I watched him from my upstairs balcony last night stalking something in the treeline – being himSelf once again. Whatever it was, it has passed.
