We as a society have been trained out of feeling. We haven’t been trained to understand how useful and important they are. Neither have we been properly school as to what to do with them when we’re having them and most importantly what they’re telling us. Emotions are the most important and useful navigation system we EACH HAVE. This, dear people, is how we are all created equal. We have equal access to Source Energy through our EMOTIONS. In the moment that you are feeling something unwanted and unpleasant to any degree, you have the opportunity to know right now what it is that you really do want. This is an unusual moment of clarity. What you do want is now perfectly clear and obvious.
Recently in working with my private coaching clients I have noticed that the primary work is getting folks to feel. Seems the campaign over the years has been to NOT FEEL – especially negative emotion. This is counter productive. You see if you devise ways to cut off feeling the negative emotions, you simultaneously cut off feeling the positive ones, too. Even worse, you’re cutting off access to your own Wisdom – your Inner Guidance System. You can’t trust your gut if you can’t feel it’s guidance.
You came in with your own Inner Guidance System – you are personally hard-wired into Source Energy, which by the way is the highest, fastest and purist frequency and always feels GOOD to you. It’s telling you that you’ve got your human mind in alignment with your Source Self; and when you’re in alignment, you are allowing every good thing and all Well Being. You’re alive and well in every sense and radiating that Well Being (personal power) out into the physical world. Not only that, everything you’ve ever wished for whether consciously in “prayer” or subconsciously in desires…is on it’s way to you.
Now, let’s understand what negative emotions are telling you: you’re NOT in alignment with Source. In relationship to the physical drama or situation that you’re experiencing in your physical life, it’s telling you that something’s not right. You must understand this very important distinction: this is a feeling in your gut, not a doubt in your mind. You cannot use your Internal Guidance System with your mind. It doesn’t operate in your mind. You experience your Inner Guidance System with your EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS. Thus, you must allow yourself to feel and open up that area of the solar plexus otherwise known as your
So every time you take measures to not feel something via medications, drugs, alcohol, or a practiced response to cutting off your feelings, you are denying yourself access to your IGS.
Manipura or manipurakais symbolised by a downward pointing triangle with ten petals. The seed syllable is Ram, and the presiding deity is Braddha Rudra, with Lakini as the Shakti.Manipura is related to the metabolic and digestive systems. Manipura is believed to correspond to Islets of Langerhans,[29] which are groups of cells in the pancreas, as well as the outer adrenal glands and the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body. The colour that corresponds to Manipura is yellow. Key issues governed by Manipura are issues of personal power, fear, anxiety, opinion-formation, introversion, and transition from simple or base emotions to complex. Physically, Manipura governs digestion, mentally it governs personal power, emotionally it governs expansiveness, and spiritually, all matters of growth.[30]
You must open this area up and allow Light, Breath, Expansion and Source Energy to flow opening in this area. The best way to accomplish this is through breathing exercises. My favorite is in breath 3 counts and out breath 5 counts. Doing this is quieting the mind, allowing Source, relaxing and expanding for a minimum of 3-5 minutes; at least 5 times a day.
Don’t you find it interesting that Celiac’s Disease is on the rise, especially if you think of it terms of blocking the energy of Source from flowing freely through the Solar Plexus – the center of Light in the body? Open this center up and you can then trust your gut.
Recently someone asked me to put together a talk for a corporation without using the word spirituality. I was told that was the last word they wanted to hear. Yikes! Just goes to show you how people fear what they don’t know or understand. So I decided to address this in my blog.
Fact: There’s no such thing as a non-spiritual business or organization. Period.
We are all Spiritual beings; humans and every physical form (manifestation) have their roots in nonphysical energy (thought) first. Nothing gets to the planet without being a thought form, first. So, banking or widgets, government or religious group, they are all Spiritual organizations…Yes, even hospitals and the military. Everything. Everyone.
To not recognize that or understand that completely is missing the boat. Every group is a spiritual group. We can create anything we want on earth: absolutely anything. I think some of the misperceptions come into play when you think that a spiritual group is going to look like something other than what you expect. They’re going to be off meditating before the board meeting or kneeling in prayer before battle. Not.
The big misconception is that spirituality=good. Earth is a free will zone. Everything gets to be here. That’s pretty obvious, don’t you agree? So this begs the question, what’s the point? Or what’s the different? Or what exactly are we looking to experience?
Source Energy, which we all already ARE at our core, is the highest, purest, fastest frequencies. We feel this Quality in every moment: either a lot of it or none of it or every shade (emotion) in between. Just because you’re at work doesn’t mean you’ve left your Internal Guidance System at home. Just because you’re singing in the choir at church doesn’t mean you’re allowing Source Energy to flow through you and you’re feelin’ the Love.
Spirituality Defined:
Spirituality is the measure of someone’s personal, most intimate relationship with Self. It has nothing to do with church or religion nor is it left behind because you don a three piece suit or a military uniform. Your Self is always with you. The question is are you aligned with Self (Source) or not, how much Light are you allowing to flow through your unit right NOW? That is spirituality. How connected are you in any given moment to Source, which is YOU.
The spiritual business already is. The question now is: How much Source Energy is allowed in? The degree to which each individual within the business/organization brings Self to the table, is the degree that prosperity, abundance, creativity, joy, humor, innovation, inspiration, genius is created and experienced in the entity’s services, products, communications, etc. The greater the flow of Source Energy into anything, the more Good is manifested in the final product. Above all, it is the experience of feeling It as Good and Enlivening.

Last evening I was watching a movie where a group of people were becoming naturalized citizens; and then someone sang the National Anthem. As I listened, the last line sent a ripple through me – always a sure signal for me to pay attention, as this is for me to hear in a new way and apply to my real life.
The line, of course is the last line of the first stanza: “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
I, of course, listen and see through the lens of consciousness rather than literally, but this time I thought this:
We are indeed so free that we can choose to live in a prison of our minds believing ourselves to be limited. We can choose to believe in the human mind voices within that tell us to be afraid of this, that and the other. But it takes the brave to choose freedom in your own mind. It takes being brave to choose your freedom and live life full out. It takes a brave Soul to look at “what is” in life and choose something more loving, more expansive and inclusive. It takes a brave heart to break through the prison of fear in the mind and be free. I decided to choose my freedom and be brave.
I thought that this line was speaking to me. Does it speak to you?
Choose your freedom, America! It’s every bit your choice within your own mind.
Did I know that in 1941 the Ford motor company produced an experimental automobile with a plastic body composed of 70% cellulose fibers from hemp. No, I did not know that; so I set about doing a little Google research. Watch this:
How much different would the world look today if we had followed the vision that Henry Ford set forth rather than changing course in fear. What fear you ask? The hysterical and irrational fear of cannabis.
It has always been a wonderment to me that alcohol is legal and cannabis is not. Just in observation in the course of my own life, I’ve never seen a group of people high on cannabis starting a war or getting into a fight. Yet, the effects alcohol has on the human body and psyche are well documented, and most of them not pretty. As to the argument that marijuana is the “gateway” drug. Posh. Everything is a choice. If that’s the argument, then root beer is the gateway to beer which is the gateway to the “hard stuff”. Every body gets to choose how far they go with anything in life. These decisions are personal; not the domain of government or others.
Prohibitions on cannabis began as early as 1906 but found substantive traction in the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 which required growers to register so as to pay the tax. Oddly, during WWII, the US Government encouraged farmers to grow hemp for the war effort.
In 2005 Ron Paul introduced theIndustrial Hemp Farming Act which was referred to committee, where it still languishes. Hemp, marijuana, cannabis – by whatever name – is one of Nature’s gifts to man. Such a useful and amazing crop would mean so much in the area of sustainability. Where so much by-product of a toxic nature is attributed to steel and plastics, what would using hemp mean if engineers and scientists found ways to utilize this crop to produce automobile bodies and homes? What would this mean to the farmer in North Dakota?
What would legalization of marijuana mean in terms of revitalizing the fabric and garment industry here in America? What would it look like if you could go to an herb shop and buy a few ounces of legal marijuana to bake into some cookies for a party or smoke if you so chose to do? Would the world come to an end? Probably not. Would fewer people drink alcohol? Who knows. Are people going to go hog wild and be doped out at work? No more so than those who go to work drunk or have a beer at lunch. These are personal issues of self and spiritual development.
An initiative to legalize marijuana will most likely be on the ballot in California’s November election. As with most things, this is finally being made possible because of the economics of the times. The cost to prosecute offenders outweighs the benefits; and California is strapped financially, looking for new sources of growth for the economy, just like North Dakota.
Fears are always irrational; but it is always fear that keeps us from the realization of our Good. We are being asked to grow in our spiritual development from children to adults. We are being asked to release our fears and move into Oneness with Source. Here is where we can release one more fear and find many blessings, not the least of which is communion with God enjoying with gratitude the bounty of this precious and amazing herb. This is only Common Sense.
Thank for reading!

All arguments aside, the bottom line through the lens of Applied Spirituality is that this is a natural substance like any other herb that is part and parcel of our Natural world. It is up to the individual to choose what things they will participate in, pay attention to, use, or reject as a matter of personal choice like hot dogs over hamburgers. No more; no less. What is available now is the opportunity to drop the fear over something and move on to enjoy the many benefits and blessings that this blessed seed will impart to all of us looking for new and better ways to honor the planet. We can start by giving thanks for hemp.
Last evening I watched the movie, V for Vendetta. It was released almost exactly 4 years ago, somehow I missed it then.
I was impressed with the film altogether. Thought provoking, intelligent, well written, acted, filmed, etc. The take away for me was contained in the scene sequences where Evey is put through prison and interrogation, where she stops being afraid of her own death and is free from fear to choose an action that she otherwise wouldn’t have been able to even see as a choice.
In the movie there takes place much discussion of the word terrorist. But as I watched it, I came to see more clearly than every before that a terrorist, by my definition, is anyone or anything that preys on your fears. Fear being the ultimate oppressor of a life well and fully lived.
I participate in an auto survey group. Once a week we are sent a survey (and I am sure these are commissioned by the American car manufacturer). They use us as a focus group, what do we think of this, that, etc. Last week the survey was to my mind, repulsive. The survey began with a commercial where it’s a dark night, a deer jumps in front of car, there’s a crash and the car’s onboard satellite system sends the life saving message to send help (thanks to the onboard gps system). We were to rate this commercial. Then, we were to rate this commercial in light of Toyota’s recent problems. Did we now feel better about Chevy or not? How do we now feel about Toyota?
Fear. They prey on your fears. They market to your fears. You now think that you’re not safe in a Toyota; but with this onboard satellite system in a Chevy, you are now “safe”, once again.
My feedback on the commercial to GM?
This is a time when real leadership would be attempting to lead Americans back into the idea of Well Being, strength and courage. Real leadership would acknowledge that we, as a people and individually create the whole of our destiny and future. We are capable. We are strong in love. We are innovative and creative. We are fearless in the face of any challenge, because we believe in ourselves.
To prey on people’s fears, to exacerbate fear, to imply they “need” help because they are unable to help themselves is loathsome and shameful. This commercial and most of the marketing messages are all about fear.
The trouble is, they get to you because you “buy in”. Now I ask you once again? What would it take for you to become unafraid and live your life as a free person. The real terrorist is fear presented to you a million times a day. When will you stop buying? It’s your free-will choice, wholly and completely your decision. If not now, when?

I just finished listening to President Obama’s first State of the Union. If you missed it, please click on the link so graciously provided by CSPAN and the Philadelphia Examiner.
I am always impressed with Obama’s equanimity. Unlike most of us he doesn’t use sarcasm, cynicism, barbs or innuendo. He speaks plainly, which can only come from a deep place of center and connectedness. I also like the way he is not against anything, but rather is for this or that – focusing on what is desired and refusing to spend any Energy in the past. For example, he’s not interested in punishing banks, but is interested in safeguarding our financial future. He’s a wise man to keep us focused forward on where we want to be, not where we have been.
With all the plans to move forward, however, it always comes down to how we can get along with one another. I wonder when we will value being happy over being right. I wonder when we will value each other over being right.
Recently I finished an amazing book, The Gargoyleby Andrew Davidson. Often I believe we can learn more about ourselves from fiction. In this book a young man is severely burnt and so begins the odyssey of his recovery both spiritual and physical. Throughout the journey he is plagued by a serpent’s voice that hisses to him frailties, his weaknesses. It is the voice of his ego telling him what to fear incessantly, keeping him small and unavailable for love and a beautiful life.
At times throughout the President’s speech, whole sections of his audience would not applaud, nor would they stand. I wonder about that ego serpent’s voice hissing fear into the minds of these people who would not be moved by love of Country, nor a larger purpose, nor even the Spirit of Love to realize that ego divides and does not admit heart, God, into the political scene; and this is what holds us back.
I wondered how one shifts such a thing; and the answer came readily to me – by Love, itself.
I am heartened that the President has called for changes that will support small business and entrepreneurs. This is where each of us refuses to be daunted by our own serpent’s voices, but dares to create and innovate within our own lives. This is how we can begin growing this economy, our new America, from the ground up.
Spirituality is allowing that Spirit of God, yourSelf, to move you past your serpent’s voice of fear and dare to become your biggest Self. This requires you, John and Jane Doe, to move past what ever limits you – the lies your serpent’s voice streams out – and move into your Godmind of Infinite Possibility, Value for Self, and create a new life for yourself.
This is self development, spiritual growth, self improvement – call it what you will. It is the call for you to leave behind the limiting voice of ego and live in the Still Small Voice of Source Energy and follow your heart. In this way we create a New America.
I have written two books with online courses to help you find yourSelf and begin new. I am offering a teleclassto help you begin anew. Whatever you do, pick up your bed and walk. The Spirit is alive in you, follow It.
How the heck did a whole decade go by? Seems like just yesterday we were all wondering if we would disappear as of New Year 2000 and the new millennium. Remember? You just gotta laugh at us humans with our fears and superstitions, eh?
In retrospect, which I think every New Year affords us – a review of where we have been so that we might choose more consciously where it is we would like to go, here’s what I see.
The decade of the 2000′s was a major “contraction” into fear. We began in fear in 1999 with Y2K and we built on the fear theme full throttle for the first 4 years. At every opportunity to choose “not fear”, we chose more fear. The 2000′s saw the initiation of the Patriot’s Act in October, 2001 and the formation of the Department of Homeland Security in November of 2002 to protect freedom. In 2003 the Department of Immigration and Naturalizationwas absorbed into the Department of Homeland Security, as the witch hunt for terrorists increased and our personal freedoms decreased.
This contraction brought into question whether we were willing to give up some of our personal freedoms for the sake of safety. Each of us, of course, weighed this question up for ourselves as the reality of these new laws impinged on us personally in airport lines or other encounters. These encounters caused us to reevaluate, rethink, and reconsider the “price of safety” and the opportunity to choose again.
Meanwhile at a grassroots level, a body of new thought was taking root: the Law of Attraction. Could it be that we are the Creators of all of our own reality. If so, how the heck did we co-create (attract) the attacks of 911? The evolution of mankind in consciousness seemed to be interwoven with the physical events taking place on Earth.
America became increasingly unpopular across the globe going to war in Iraq and with other uncharacteristic acts of aggression/imperialism launched from a place of fear, greed and lack. Now, if one was looking with the desire to see, on the global screen one could see in living technicolor how beliefs and thought vibrations create “reality” on earth. From 2204-2008 this pattern continued with more fear creating more actions out of fear culminating in the financial crisis and the near bank collapse.
As the 2008 campaign geared up it was clear that this election was a “consciousness” election, rather than political. There were those who were unwilling to change and those who were sick of the fear and wanted to break free and create a world anew.
The Presidential Election of 2008 was not just an American event, but was a global event reflecting a world tired of living in fear and wanting to expand into more freedom, more joy, and more good.
2009 was the year of stopping a runaway freight train traveling at breakneck speed in an unwanted direction. There was a lot of momentum to the fear train. 2009 wasn’t so much of a building year, as it was putting on the brakes and stopping the slide into even more fear. New ideas that were long suffering found a time to be heard. We’ve spent a year sorting through ideas, beliefs and thought forms, much like cleaning out the American attic and basement, deciding which ones we will use to build the new future on and which we will recycle into the cosmic mind.
The 2009 debate on a health care reform is the first place where we are attempting new thought. However healthcare reform is only in its infancy as integrating New Thought into mainstream policy is only in its infancy. As of now, it is still largely based in fear and lack, missing completely the idea that the individual is sovereign in choosing Well Being, or not; and that if allowed, the body’s default position is wellness, not sickness.
This is where we find ourselves this brand New Year , 2010. We are on the cusp, a pivot point where New Thought and mainstream may or may not merge. It is an evolutionary process, not a revolutionary process. However, this time there is some mass and momentum for New Thought to actually begin shaping our future back into Oneness and Well Being.
It’s the most exciting time to be alive on planet Earth. We wouldn’t have missed this for anything!
We are choosing our future, creating it as we go, one thought at a time, one persona at a time. How cool is that?
I confess I didn’t understand how anyone could oppose the President encouraging kids to make something of themselves. I recall President Kennedy’s famous, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” speech. Everyone was charged with becoming their personal “best”. We studied, we applied ourselves, we even did the calisthenics programs he promoted to be fit. That’s what leaders do, they encourage others to become all that they can be. Watch.
Our danger lies not without, but within each individual who feels the separation from Source, God, All That Is. When we cannot feel out connection, the love that that imparts to us, we are alone, naked, scared and see out through a human mind stranded in fear. From this place we are irrational, devious, and unreasonable. We cannot hear anything of Love, for we are on the frequency of fear. Love and fear are opposite frequencies.
Make no mistake, both Democrats and Republicans alike suffer from this separation anxiety. Indeed, our whole nation suffers from it and this is what is eroding us – from the inside out.
If a man awakes every morning, conservative or liberal, and believes he lives in a malevolent world with no support, no love, no eternality, no infinite possibilites, and in an indifferent Universe, he will do anything – good man or no – to feel safe.
We are a spiritually poor nation. Organized religion has failed us, but our own efforts to reconnect with Who We Really Are individually are the route, now. The feeling of fear provokes within us a profound desire for internal peace, calm and rationality. This will guide us inward where each of us has our own, personal connection with God for comfort and Truth.
Do not have the hubris to think this doesn’t include you. For if you are someone who is waging war on anything – saving the wolves, saving Tibet, saving the environment, feeling hate and anger at conservatives or liberals, then, you do not understand the Oneness of all things either.
It is each individual’s job to find their personal alignment with Source daily – even moment to moment. This is unconditional Love: that external circumstances do not have to change in order for me to feel my Connection to Source. Can you say that? Can you do that? Do you even realize that is the most important awareness that you can take with you into your day?
Even Jesus wasn’t in Connection 100% of the time. He got angry in the temple and overturned the money changers tables. And on the cross he is said to have cried out, “Father, why hast thou forsaken me.”
If realizing out Oneness with God were easy, this world would look very different indeed. None the less, it is our quest, individually, to return home. Each prodigal is charged with this journey, for therein lies the answer to a world that is heaven on earth.
The question is: Are you buying in? That’s the only thing that really matters.
Listen for one minute with your mind in today’s world to words of wisdom and Connectedness from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his first inaugural address.
Since Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and that little drama, we have had the choice of focusing on fear or Well Being. We call it good and evil; by any name it is the clear choice to focus on what is Well – Good – God.
The temptation is always to believe human-mind over Godmind. This is where you get to choose to apply your spirituality – your Life Force – your Attention – your consciousness. Because wherever you freely choose to focus is what you will indeed get more of; it’s Law.
People wonder why bad things happen to good people. It’s because they believe in the duality – something other than God and Well Being. Focused there, you get to create anything you want here on Earth, including your own demise.
You, me, we all are Creators of our own every day, moment to moment reality. We do it by the Laws of Physics. This Law is the Law of Attraction which says that thoughts are vibrational and the more you think them, the more they matter – become matter – become manifest and real in your reality.
It’s time to become the Spiritual Beings that we are right here, right now in the physical and take responsibiliy: it’s not hocus pocus the way we create, it’s physics, because we are physical creatures in a physical world and a physical universe. Where we are focused is what we get.
Turn off the television, stop watching the news, and get yourself reconnected with your own Godchip guiding you to your Good at every moment.
All is truly well, if you are focused on Well Being. Look for the Good – it’s full.

The doomsayers keep spinning their web based on “reality”.
The latest figures state that over 4.4 million jobs have been lost and that the unemployment figures are at 8.1%. May I point out that this means 91.9% of Americans are still employed!
In an article in today’s New York Times, journalists Peter Goodman and Jack Healy point out that a vast remaking of the United States economy is underway. Finally!
The way we have done business in American obviously hasn‘t work. It has been based on the fear of lack. This ubiquitous belief has propelled banks and others to conduct business often in less than ethical or healthy practices.
Think about this for just a minute. When you’re afraid there’s not enough for you, what does your human mind do with this information? It begins scheming and conniving, right? The prevailing belief in American business has been that bigger is always better. It doesn’t consider that the quality of the growth is of any consequence.
Years ago I had a professor at Cornell who was showing us the “life cycle” of a business. The business is born, it grows, it levels off. Then, at this point, it has to grow again. Here’s the critical point: unless it changes this growth cannot be accomplished. The change required at that point is something NEW and innovative, a better version of what has come before it. In the hospitality sector, this meant proliferating more franchise products, so that now all we see at every freeway off ramp is a saturation of the same products and not a whole lot of unique choices. Everyone took their competitive marketing cue from the others, basically resulting in a lot of the same. It was a whole lot more fun and interesting (quality) to travel by car 40 years ago when the choices for food and lodging were offered by independents from the local region.
Another strategy for growing a company after the leveling-off stage has been merging and acquiring. Giant conglomerates have emerge from this strategy like Phillip Morris. This doesn’t mean that the company improved, changed, or re-made itself, it just means that “on the books” it grew in dollars earned often acquiring companies within industries in which they had no expertise. Much like the American consumer just buying more stuff.
Business is a place where innovation can and should be rewarded. However, the American thinking of investors has been just to make money by whatever means – in short, the idea of quality and innovation was thrown to the wayside for profit taking by parting out companies and/or betting. The stock market is now less the arena for supporting new businesses and ideas than it is a commonplace craps table.
We can have methods for evaluating a company, but without regard and respect for the inherent “quality” of a company factored in, the products and services, ideas and research that drive a company are not in the calculations. This is basically equivalent to no one saying, “Ah, excuse me, the Emperor is naked.”
Take the American car companies, for example. All are ‘victim’ of lackful thinking /or group think. This is how business is always done. Over the past decade when other car manufacturers such as Honda and Toyota were putting out cars that lasted more than a decade and met fuel efficiency standards ahead of schedule, the American car companies were still creating gas hogs that self-destructed at less than 100,000 miles.
Natural Law on Earth is either change or go extinct. The American car manufacturers are nearly extinct; we will watch to see if the US Government can support them while they try to catch up.
Mother Nature is not that accommodating. If a species cannot adapt, it dies.
Adaptation or change has to be built into the system of corporate evaluation. Indeed, the NYT journalists are right on target. A vast remaking of our economy must be underway, or we will perish. It’s Natural Law.
The American people and our thinking over the last 100 years have traveled a path so far away from Nature, that we no longer even consider Natural Law when we are working on a business plan. It’s about the money. Oddly enough, if we operate according to Natural Law where only Quality gets to exist, the money would flood in beyond our wildest dreams. Human mind thoughts based in lack and fear work counterproductive to the Laws of Nature, and therefore, are not sustainable.
We humans are Natural creatures subject to the Laws of Nature just as every flower, animal and cell are. Our creations are subject to Natural Law, as well. And Quality is the name of Her game.
What does this mean to you, the individual? It means you are subject to the Laws of Nature, as well. You must change and adapt or go extinct, as well. What holds you back from changing yourself into something more and better than the previous version of you? It’s probably fear, just as fear of not enough led to this economic collapse. Indeed, it is time and the time is ripe for
creating a new economy based on Quality and Plenty.
As AnisNin said, “There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
It’s time for America, and each individual citizen, to bloom.
