are you ready for Love?

Hello Everyone,

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. Everyone! No exceptions. And it is absolutely possible.

Yet why do loving relationships evade us? I’m speaking not just to the singles, but to the myriad marrieds who find themselves disappointed in their relationship.

As Valentine’s Day fast approaches again, we have another opportunity to realize the misperceptions, false beliefs and wrong premises that we each carry around with us that are creating the ‘real life’ experience that we are living. Make no mistake, we each are the creator of our daily reality bar none.

So while you might be able to point to “him” or “her” and say, “He’s a jerk” or “She’s too demanding”, you, my dear friend, hold a belief about yourself that is limiting your selection to these types of people...conditional.

However, it’s the conditions within your own mind that filter and sort who and what is allowed into your experience. This is simply how the world works. This is how it is set up. That which you believe is that which you will attract. It’s managed by the Law of Attraction.

For awhile after I would break up with someone, I would step out of the love game. I remember clearly thinking that unless I understood how I was showing up in relationship to cause this, I would be forever doomed to keep repeating it. Then I realized that the core beliefs within myself had to shift. Then, I got to work on myself.

Every single one of us has been playing the “not enough” game in one form or another. We either have the experience of not enough love, money, time, health…all variations on the Game to hide the Truth from ourselves. What Truth is that?  We are actually Source Energy having a physical human life. It is a Game where we hide from our Self. So when we meet up with something that doesn’t feel Good, it’s a clue. We have run smack dab into a bold faced lie that we think is true, but it is not True. Hint. Hint. There’s something More here. Now what could that be?

A lover leaves. It feels rotten, because you think you’re not enough. Hint. Hint. Dig here. The Truth is just the opposite.

This is the Ordinary Heroes Journey. In the course of an everyday life, a common ‘human’ event like a divorce or being alone on a Saturday night, our negative feelings point to the Real Truth – you are Love and you are enough. You are deserving and worthy. What you believe about yourself in your human mind is all that separates you from the realization of Love in your human physical life.

The work to let go and shift those false beliefs is yours to do. The pain you feel is the opportunity to free yourself of your limiting ideas.

On Tuesday, January 24 at 6 PM EST, Katherine Woodward Thomas, LA Times best selling author of Calling in the One talks with me on my radio show, A New View of Life. You can listen live and even call in and ask her questions directly. Katherine wrote the book and developed a 7 week course to help everyone realize more Love in their lives. This is a rare opportunity that you should not miss if you’re still waiting for Mr. or Miss Right.

You will be amazed at how simple the process is to be just a wee bit more mindful, use your emotions to clean out the wrong ideas you’ve been living with, and how empowering the whole idea is that you’re the one creating your own reality. For when you’ve become a vibrational match to Love (which is who you already are) – it can flow into your experience as naturally as the air you breathe.

Let this be the year of Love for you! Join us at 6 PM EST. on A New View of Life. You can also listen later in the archives or download it from itunes. Just do it. You deserve Love, absolutely.

relaxing into well being (a story, part 1)

Hello Everyone,

Letting go of human mind is directly proportional to one’s ability to relax and Trust in Well Being.  Life transformation is simple; I never said it was easy. If you, like me, have been working, working, working at having the life you want and find yourself exactly where you’ve always been, then it’s not that the Universe isn’t answering you, because it is. It is simply that we keep creating the same conditions over and over again like n the movie, Groundhog Day. Conclusion: there’s a persistent belief in the black box of human mind that dis-allows your relaxing into Well Being so you can realize what you want. Allow me to share my story with you…

I recently realized that this was the case with myself. So in Applied Spirituality theory,  I’m supposed to “play”, “relax”, and “have fun”. Do I believe that’s right and natural?  Check. That belief feels right to me, but then I spend 12 hours a day working with my face buried in the computer, writing articles and posts, learning the technology, studying myriad subjects but never really paying attention to HOW I FEEL when I’m doing all this. I just do it. So accustomed am I (habituated) to the work ethic: head-down and sacrifice now for the future. I couldn’t see my own forest for the trees until the negative feeling became so big that I could no longer miss it.

I experienced myself less enthusiastic, less eager, and really not accomplishing much. Yes, I still be worked 12 hours a day, but without results and admittedly not much fun. I wasn’t playing either outside work nor within the work. It had become dull and lifeless to me. Slowly I realized this. And when I finally did, it felt like a powerless place to me – dead end. Now what do I do?

The box my human mind had cornered me into was this: if I wasn’t working, then I felt guilty playing. Deeper than that, however, was another operating belief: amount of work=amount of my worth. Ye gads. So I was in a bind – you know, that proverbial rock and hardplace that I write about. There I was. My human mind blathering about I’m only valuable if I’m working hard and my Self telling me to play, play, play and enjoy my life and through that attitude of joy, everything I want would come. My human mind, naturally, was sneering that that proposition.

Yet, the observable evidence was irrefutable. Working hard without joy was getting me nowhere. I was NOT happy. Something had to change; and it wasn’t something in the physical world of doing, because I’d been “doing” a lot. I had to let go…of what? I had to change something, but what? I had to let go of my human mind belief that work=my value; but then my human mind kept saying that if I stop working so hard, then what? Where will the dollars come from? This was a Trust issue. Clearly a rubber meets the road Waterloo moment. Just me and Me. Which would I choose?

When I listened to ‘me’ I already knew the outcome because I was living that: unhappy, lifeless, and going nowhere fast. When I listened to “Me”, I wanted to believe that all my Good would come if I could relax into Well Being and play. I realized my resistance to going there was because I didn’t Trust. Oh boy! So clearly I knew the direction I wanted to go – I wanted to be enjoying my life and abundant. In order to do so, I would have to TRUST. My human mind wanted me to think it was either/or…my Big Self knew the Truth.

Visions of the old parable, the Grasshopper and the Ant came roaring back. More human mind programming. I was literally assailed by my human mind ego to warn me off from even considering what Me was proposing – go play.  Whilst Me sat quietly and patiently awaiting my arrival, not trying to entice me, but waiting for me to allow It. My human mind suggested I work at deliberate creation processes. Work. Work. Work!!!! I did, for awhile, and then stopped. My knowing is that life is natural. The birds don’t work for their worms; my garden is growing outrageously without any efforting. The planet spins on its axis quite well, the sun comes up every single day without any effort. Then life, my life, should be effortless as well.

My pea brain was unrelenting…”Allow? ALLOW??? No Effort??? Are you NUTS? You can’t let up for a minute! You’ll go broke. You’ll be lost forever! Work! Work! Work. That’s the way. That’s the ticket. It’s the way it’s done’ it’s the way it’s always been done.”
And so it went for weeks…with me walking the line between them. Not really working; and not really allowing. The results…the same in the physical world. Not much progress; not falling backwards…just unsatisfying mediocrity. Yuck!

Clearly I had reached a personal place within me that was illuminating the next place I had to LET GO in order to move forward, to evolve and expand.  I had to relax into Well Being. I had to Trust at a deeper level; and in order to do so…I had to let go. Oh arg, arg, arg! Have you ever seen a kid at the swimming pool up on the diving board for the first time? He wants to dive in or jump in, but he can’t…yet. The line of kids getting longer behind him as he is stuck between his desire and his fear. Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no……Well consider that a good picture of where I’ve been.

I’m telling you all this in the gory detail, because this is an example of how it happens within all of us. The bind. Leap into faith and trust (and be ruined according to the human mind) or stay the course and be miserable. When I could at last see the choice to be made clearly, it was fairly simple. I didn’t want to live a mediocre life. I never have and I never will. So that propelled me to consider: what it would take for me to relax and Trust into Well Being.

Every been here? Tell me your thoughts and experience. I’d love to hear from you!

to be continued…

egypt: the joy of freedom

Good Morning Everyone!

A Spiritual Revolution Manifesting in the Physical Experience

I was so overjoyed listening this this woman from Egypt in her joy that I had to share it. I was ruminating about how quickly and peacefully the Egyptian revolution happened as opposed to the American Revolution. Dr. King is smiling. But it’s right and good; it is natural as the nature of Spirit within everyone is freedom, growth and joy…reaching to realize in the physical world that which they already ARE. It’s like the daisy that pushes itself up through the asphalt; Life insists; Existence Is; and nothing can stop it.

However, President Mubarek was part and parcel of this coming about. He provided the “contrast” from which the Egyptian people chose a new route. In essence they have him to thank for making this revolution possible, as it inspired within the new desire for freedom in a powerful way.

Watch and listen to the jubilation in this woman’s voice.

I have no idea what the words are to this song, but I do feel the Energy of Life.

And so it goes, the desire for more; the answering; and the alignment with it. This is the evolution of mankind; the expansion of the Universe in its eternal dance. This is Applied Spirituality.

children: what they teach us

Good Morning Everyone!

Children are our teachers if we’re disposed to pay attention and stop trying to turn them into us. They are clear transparencies of Life Force, allowing It to flow through them unedited and unobstructed. That’s why they’re so joyful and innocent, they don’t have a bunch of junk in their human minds bending or distorting Life Force.

Watch and get a glimpse of where we need to go as adults: lose the human mind and regain our Divine Mind of joy. This is the natural process of Applied Spirituality

And here’s a grown up that gets it

You have your assignment: go forth, be silly, express the Joy that you are.

the nature of spirit/life: freedom

Good Morning Everyone!

Liberation Square, Cairo February 1, 2011 photo courtesy AP

Suddenly the urge for freedom is erupting across the Arab world: Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and now Jordan. Like a daisy sprouting up from the cracks in the asphalt, Life insists on Life. The urge to be free cannot be denied within the human despite race, religion, or location. Everyone has the same Godchip hard-wired within whose nature is freedom, growth and joy. We are seeing the expression of Self across the globe – the huddled masses yearning to be free – no longer huddling but standing up, stretching and reaching for their inherent freedom on earth.

Just as America reached for her freedom from England back in 1776, these scenes reflect the very same urge within every human to throw off oppression and freely pursue life, liberty and happiness.

All the religious strictures, governmental restraints or human laws of any type cannot keep this phenomenon of Life from happening. We all come in with this knowing: we are free; and we seek to bring into alignment that which we are by Nature into manifestation in our physical lives. We witness people from all walks of life reaching for Quality – the realization of Source in our everyday experience. This is Applied Spirituality in action. It’s Natural.

the flow of life

Hello Everyone,

I recently came across this video of young Johnathan conducting the 4th movement to Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Study him. Johnathan is the picture of allowing Life to flow through you with no resistance. Obviously we cannot know how he feels in this state, but by watching him you can infer that he is ALIVE, ALLOWING, EXUBERANT, EAGER, ENTHUSIASTIC AND HAVING FUN. This blurs the line between the physical and the nonphysical, as he is allowing his 96% nonphysical Godself to flow unimpeded through him in pure bliss and joy.

Imagine living your day feeling like this…you can.

Spend some time imagining how it feels to be in Johnathan’s state of being right now. Carry that with you into your day and reproduce it.

for the fun of it

Hello Everyone!

It’s just come to me that we just don’t play enough; be silly enough; do something just because it’s fun to do…like kids. I listen a lot to Abraham-Hicks. I can’t for the life of me figure out how I missed this underlying message of “just get happy”.

I think, like many of us, that I have had this underlying belief that unless something’s productive, meaningful, useful, etc…well, then, it’s a waste of time. ARgggg! How could I have missed this for so long? Well, no matter. The point is I get it now and now is the place where all my creative power is. So, new order of the day? Get Happy. Do things just for the fun of it. My new credo.

To this end I salute the folks who created this video – but who must have had a blast creating this invention which does absolutely nothing useful, except open the drapes to a brand new day. And that – a brand new day – is something to Be Happy About. Enjoy!

And, oh, thanks for reading!  Kath

The Economics of Self Esteem

Posted by: | Comments (0)
Retweet

Hello Everyone,

I spend a lot of time noticing people, behavior, money and time. In ‘this economy’ It’s the catch phrase these days, so I have to use it for Googling purposes. But people seem to be working harder and faster, taking on more and more with a sense of desperation.

Perhaps they’re fueled by the idea that the unemployment benefits are going to run out; or they have to find that job, right now; or I’ve only got a certain amount of severance, so I’ve got to launch this business pronto. Always we are thinking there’s not enough – for me.

It’s precisely thinking like this that got us into this recession in the first place. No where else on Earth, save the UK, maybe, do people work so hard and so long for so little. It defies logic and common sense. I wonder how much we make per hour as a nation. Now there’s a question. If we added up the earnings of everyone in the US, then added up the hours worked and divided that into the earnings, what would we be making per hour? I can assure you it would be a pittance compared to our True Value.

This of course doesn’t even take into account the “j” factor – you know, J.O.Y. Now, let’s ask that question: how many of us really LOVE what we’re doing? Preposterous!

We’ve got it all backwards, because we think the harder we work the more money we will make.

Forget the penalty in stress paid by the body. We work for those benefits, after all. We stick at jobs we hate, damaging our physicality so we can cash in on those benefits when we have that stroke, the heart attack or get the big “C” – which by the way we wouldn’t have if we’d spent our days in joy.

How the heck did we get here?

I’d like to say it was a big conspiracy, but we all went along willingly like lambs to slaughter buying into the “American Dream” that the marketers were selling on behalf of the Banks, the HMO’s, the insurance companies, and the pharmaceuticals.

They package it up real pretty and sell it; we buy it lock, stock and barrel. We should have that McMansion, those cars, these clothes, this gadget and that particular widget. Then we’ll feel like we’ve made it; we’ve arrived – then there will be material proof that we’re good enough – at last.

Hamsters on the wheel, we are. Hamsters on the wheel.

What fuels this? Why could they sell us this crock?

We have a national deficit, but it’s not cash. It is a national deficit of personal and individual self-esteem.

We are poor in Spirit. We are poor in Who We Really Are. We don’t know our own value, our own worth, and we do not trust our own internal thought processes as valid. We don’t think for ourselves, we don’t question the premise, and we think they know more than we do.

In the old days, I think they called it Common Sense. Today, we’ve all but abdicated our personal sense of what’s a right and appropriate response to life. We trust ‘them’ to tell us what to watch on TV, what to wear, what to eat, what drugs to ask for at the doctor’s, what symptoms to have, what beauty is, what to think about the ‘news’, and we do it it all. We follow so well.

Nothing will change until we remember and value above all else, Who We Really Are – individually – you and me.

When we truly trust our responses to life as right and appropriate; when we value ourselves, our opinions, our time, our talents, our very being as the precious and beautifully unique thing that it is – then, folks, the economy of our nation will thrive, because we individually are thriving.

Only we can do this. Only you and I can begin the transformation of poor self esteem into one of personal high regard and respect. This is our job.

Then, one day, in the midst of our work day, we will stop at least once and say, “I cannot believe they pay me to do this! I love my work.”

Imagine this.

Soothing Someone Back Into Well Being

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Good Morning Everyone,

Recently I heard the best story. It involves friends of mine in Descanso. Jack is involved with Parkinson’s. When I lived in Descanso, I used to go over to Jack and Doreen’s because I just loved them as people and I would do energy work on both of them. Those times with them were amazing and fun. As the symptoms of Parkinson’s progressed in Jack, Doreen moved with elegance to assist and care for him, as she still does.

Doreen is the portrait of True Love. She and Jack are entirely devoted to each other. They came to the US from Scotland back in the 60′s. Jack’s trade was that he was a glass man. So they started their own window and stained glass company, which is now run by their eldest daughter.

Jack is the quintessential Scot; he plays the bagpipes and has read every Scottish author and poet, and can quote them all. Together they are simply a joy to be around. As a couple they love and respect each other fundamentally. Even in this difficult circumstance, I have never heard them utter a disparaging word or use an insulting tone. It just isn’t in their awareness, so replete is their joy in each other.

As time as gone on, Jack’s ability to move about and communicate has become severely hampered. Doreen literally lifts him from his bed and moves him to place to place. And only she can understand his communications at this point, so in tune are they with each other.

Recently in Southern California the temperatures have topped 100 degrees over many days with crippling humidity.

The neighborhood guys got an idea. Once a week these fellows gather at Jack and Doreen’s house to play snooker, although Jack can’t play anymore, they have continued to come and have their weekly game including Jack in their fun.

Well, seems Tom, a neighbor, got the idea that if they all helped, they could take Jack on a field trip to his house where he has a swimming pool. This was executed last week.

The guys came and got Jack and they all trooped over to Tom’s house where they had a pool party. Jack, included. They got Jack into the swimming pool, where for 2 uninterrupted hours, Jack was in heaven, diverted from the constancy of the Parkinson’s.

He floated and wiggled and felt his body weightless and cool – almost free. For two hours, Jack was back in Well Being, diverted from his usual focus – the prison of his body.

According to all reports, a magical time was had by all.

The greatest gift we can give anyone who is focused on something “unwanted” is to soothe them back into Well Being. These guys, his friends and neighbors, and fellow Light Beings did just that.
When someone can be diverted from what is (unwanted) and soothed back into Oneness, that vibration goes out into the Universe and is answered. What is more is that in this place of Well Being, Jack is allowing his Good to be received. Amen.

Of course I know these guys, and all I can say is that I’ve never heard of a more wonderful INSPIRATION and just hearing the story put the biggest smile on my face. Well done, indeed, guys. Very, very well done.

Thanks for reading!

Good Morning Everyone!

It’s a winter wonderland in Ohio this morning. I think we have about 10 new inches of snow on the ground this morning. It is lovely; and it is still coming down! I’m heading out soon to make angels in the snow.

I rarely read sports stories, unless of course it is something compelling. Today there is a wonderful Cinderella story on Yahoo News about Sean McHugh of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I love this story, because it takes place over a short time frame, which helps illustrate the internal energy (attitude) of McHugh.

Just four months ago McHugh was cut from the Detroit Lions, who by the way, have gone 0-16 this season claiming title as worst of the worst. I’ll talk about their energy in a minute. However, this “bad” news came on the heels of news that he and his wife we going to have a second baby. Also, they had just purchased a home outside of Detroit. From these two items you can see they were “expanding”. They were full of Life – Source Energy. The McHughes were allowing the Flow of Source through them. Skipity Doo Dah! Life is Good.

Mind you, they also had been doing a lot of asking (wishing and desiring) individually and together. So the Big Universe was busy delivering to them as long as they were allowing Source.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, McHugh gets cut from the Lions. Shock. What the heck?

Fleetingly, like with all of us, there is fear, doubt, and all the other negative emotions. But key here, is that this disallowing was fleeting. I mean, when you get cut from the worst team, how would you feel? But hold on just a minute…they were on a roll of “allowing” and that same night, McHugh gets a call from the Steelers to come on down!

At this point I would like to stop, just a second, and point out the Law of Attraction operating here, which says “like is attracted to like”. With the LOA in place, McHugh is a positive little elf, he’s buying a home, he’s having another baby, he’s in LOVE with Life. His energy is not a match to the energy of Detroit and the Lions. So he’s gotta move on – by Law -towards his matching vibration and, of course, his Good. So voila! The Steelers know one of their own kind and snatch him up. Like with Like.

The Steelers, as you might know, are heading to the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay. The best of the best.

In his interview McHugh says, “There is an expectation when you become a Pittsburgh Steeler that you’re going to win,” he said. “And anything less than that is not acceptable. In Detroit it was like you were hoping to win.”

I like this guy. He’s actually paying attention to how things feel in the culture of his teams. What he observed tells volumes. In Pittsburg there’s the expectation of winning. That’s an internal attitude which sees success as “of course”. In Detroit, there’s the “hope” which has doubt all through it. That’s their “internal attitude which is their culture.

The internal attitude = the organization’s culture = their vibrational signature which is what the Big Universe is answering. Expect to win = win. Doubt your Good = failure, malaise.

McHughs goes on to say, “It’s a little bit of redemption, a little bit of success in the face of distress; a little bit about remembering that what appears to be the worst thing can turn out to be the best.

“A door closed,” McHugh said, “and a world opened.”

I love this guy! If he’s paying attention, he’s just learned how it all works. If you study this story, you’ll see how the Big Universe works in your Life.

1. Never doubt. Your Good is At Play even in the face of what appears to be the worst thing. Your Good is Always At Play.
2. When that door shuts, if you are maintaining the internal attitude of my Good just showed up, I’m watching for it with conviction – then, truly, the New World of Your Good just opened up.
3. Never, look back. Lot’s wife did and turned into a pillar of salt.
4. There’s always more Good…

As to the energy of Detroit, which I mentioned above. Detroit is a city that is in dire need of an attitude adjustment. The vibrational signature of Detroit is largely one of lack. Certainly they have had their challenges, and continue to have them. This is all of our challenge, to change our vibrational station within. But if anyone in Detroit is watching this story of McHugh, the answer to changing your town is in this story. You cannot keep looking at what is and not expect to get even more of what is. Somehow you have to find a way of lining up with what you want. McHugh was lined up with what he wanted – Life, success, his Good.

Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports goes on to write about McHugh,

McHugh is a blue-collar guy from outside of Cleveland. He knows how fortunate he is to play a single down in the NFL, let alone parts of four seasons with his current salary. He’s hesitant to compare his situation to the estimated 2.6 million Americans who lost their jobs in 2008.

He wasn’t living check to check. He was pursuing a dream.

This paragraph is revealing about our mindset as Americans. First, McHugh is from Cleveland, where I live right now, and I can tell you there is a “downer” going on here. The upside of this is that I’m hoping many of the folks from Cleveland who think they are doomed to a life of struggle, will identify with their hometown lad, who changed his life by believing in his Good. And the other thing – since when was pursing your dream a luxury afforded only to a few? Pursing your dream is everything, especially now. This is America; it is our right to pursue our happiness. It even says so in the Declaration of Independence.

Wouldn’t everyone, in Detroit, in Cleveland, in the whole world, have a better, happier, vibrational countenance if you were pursuing your dream rather than working paycheck to paycheck, just for the money? Now there’s a concept.

It’s all about joy, folks. All of it. Every single bit of it. Pursue the joy, feel happy inside, and watch the doubt and fear dissolve when you’re happily following your dream. Money, success, and joy are not mutually exclusive, you know. They go hand in hand.

My sincere thanks and appreciation to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo News for writing such a perceptive article. Study it. It’s a living, breathing example of Applied Spirituality and it contains everything you need to know to have a successful life. Period.

Thanks for reading!
