are you ready for Love?
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
Everyone deserves to love and be loved. Everyone! No exceptions. And it is absolutely possible.
Yet why do loving relationships evade us? I’m speaking not just to the singles, but to the myriad marrieds who find themselves disappointed in their relationship.
As Valentine’s Day fast approaches again, we have another opportunity to realize the misperceptions, false beliefs and wrong premises that we each carry around with us that are creating the ‘real life’ experience that we are living. Make no mistake, we each are the creator of our daily reality bar none.
So while you might be able to point to “him” or “her” and say, “He’s a jerk” or “She’s too demanding”, you, my dear friend, hold a belief about yourself that is limiting your selection to these types of people...conditional.
However, it’s the conditions within your own mind that filter and sort who and what is allowed into your experience. This is simply how the world works. This is how it is set up. That which you believe is that which you will attract. It’s managed by the Law of Attraction.
For awhile after I would break up with someone, I would step out of the love game. I remember clearly thinking that unless I understood how I was showing up in relationship to cause this, I would be forever doomed to keep repeating it. Then I realized that the core beliefs within myself had to shift. Then, I got to work on myself.
Every single one of us has been playing the “not enough” game in one form or another. We either have the experience of not enough love, money, time, health…all variations on the Game to hide the Truth from ourselves. What Truth is that? We are actually Source Energy having a physical human life. It is a Game where we hide from our Self. So when we meet up with something that doesn’t feel Good, it’s a clue. We have run smack dab into a bold faced lie that we think is true, but it is not True. Hint. Hint. There’s something More here. Now what could that be?
A lover leaves. It feels rotten, because you think you’re not enough. Hint. Hint. Dig here. The Truth is just the opposite.
This is the Ordinary Heroes Journey. In the course of an everyday life, a common ‘human’ event like a divorce or being alone on a Saturday night, our negative feelings point to the Real Truth – you are Love and you are enough. You are deserving and worthy. What you believe about yourself in your human mind is all that separates you from the realization of Love in your human physical life.
The work to let go and shift those false beliefs is yours to do. The pain you feel is the opportunity to free yourself of your limiting ideas.
On Tuesday, January 24 at 6 PM EST, Katherine Woodward Thomas, LA Times best selling author of Calling in the One talks with me on my radio show, A New View of Life. You can listen live and even call in and ask her questions directly. Katherine wrote the book and developed a 7 week course to help everyone realize more Love in their lives. This is a rare opportunity that you should not miss if you’re still waiting for Mr. or Miss Right.
You will be amazed at how simple the process is to be just a wee bit more mindful, use your emotions to clean out the wrong ideas you’ve been living with, and how empowering the whole idea is that you’re the one creating your own reality. For when you’ve become a vibrational match to Love (which is who you already are) – it can flow into your experience as naturally as the air you breathe.
Let this be the year of Love for you! Join us at 6 PM EST. on A New View of Life. You can also listen later in the archives or download it from itunes. Just do it. You deserve Love, absolutely.
Thanks for reading,

relaxing into well being: a story part 2
Posted by: | CommentsHello everyone!
Last June I wrote Part 1 of my “Relaxing Into Well Being” story. To refresh your memory you can read it here.
Suffice it to say that I had reached a turning point, a fork in the road, maybe even a wall. It was definitely a low spot.
I had been working, doing, efforting with all my might to bring Applied Spirituality™ to the world. Blog posts on two blogs, articles, speaking, seminars, courses in technology to learn social media, marketing and on and on and on.
Why? Well because that’s what we do. At least that’s what my Dad and Mom and Gram taught me to do. “Give 110% and the world will notice your efforts.” I, of course, bought it hook, line and sinker. So from a young age, I learned how to work, effort, and push myself – nevermind how I feel. “That’s life
.”
After 30 years of working so hard, I’d finally had it. After 30 years of learning how the world works, writing the cosmology of Applied Spirituality, and after teaching people these same principles, I realized it was time for the physician to heal herself. It was time to practice what I preached. Yes, this is embarrassing, but hey. It was time I – here it comes – APPLIED everything I knew. There. I’ve said it.
It was a dramatic decision made with much internal angst. Mind against Knowing. If I don’t keep working hard, it will all fall apart. If I keep doing what I’m doing, I’ll get the same results. What to do?
Surrender. Then I realized: focusing my energy through my mind was the doing. That is how we create.
I also realized that throughout my lifetime I’d probably sent up enough “desires” for the Universe to fulfill 10 lifetimes. If I could learn to relax and allow my Good to flow in, it just might be easy and OMG…possibly fun.
This defined my challenge for the coming months. Could stop all my physical doing? Could I learn to deliberately and intentionally focus my mind into Well Being, allowing my Good, my Inspiration, and Life Force to take me into the Stream and let it carry me into the future? Could I Trust that much?
With the old way no longer an option, the path of focusing my mind into Well Being became my daily task of “doing”.
It was not easy. My human mind waged a tremendous battle. Even though I had resolved to take the road less traveled, minute by minute my mind offered up unrelenting warnings, fears, doom, gloom and GUILT. This will never work. Have you gone mad? And on and on and on.
Yet, too weary to go back to what I’d been doing; I persisted. Either what I know to be true is True; or it is not. Here’s the acid test. I will either sink or swim and perhaps even fly. So I stayed the course.
Someday soon, perhaps, I share the whole story with you. For now let me report that after 6 months of staying the course, learning to focus my mind into Well Being, things are MUCH BETTER.
I’m happier. If the energy focusing effort didn’t produce anything other than that, that would be enough! Externally I am amazed at how things are coming to me with ease, serendipity and inspired action. People show up differently around me; and people and events that were common place irritations no longer are in my sphere.
I’m here to tell you that the world works by vibration and by vibration alone.
Mastering my focus has been the single hardest thing I’ve ever undertaken with myself in my life. This process of taming the incessant chatter of my human ego mind and clearing out all the stories (that were never true) has taken me on the E-Ticket Ride of my Lifetime. Yes, it continues, and the views from the higher elevations are pretty darn Good. What is more…there is More!
I invite you to follow me! Only you don’t have to invent the wheel like I did.
On Tuesday January 17, 2012 Renita Kalhorn is my guest on A New View of Life Radio Show, which can be heard live at 6 PM EST. Renita is a “performance strategist”. Actually she’s pretty darn smart, because she knows that if you know how to focus into Well Being, everything else comes. Renita has made the mind mastery aspect of personal development or spiritual awakening or life transformation- call it what you will – her specialty.
Lucky for us. Make sure you schedule this in. You will be glad you did, for everything we create comes from our ability to focus our Source Energy flowing through us – the way We want it to; not the way the ego wants us to.
See you there!
lesson from Steve Jobs
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
As you know Steve Jobs transitioned last week returning to Well Being. What a Light unto all of us and what a legacy he left to everyone willing to see. He was given up at birth. He never finished college. He became “successful” in the world by doing it his way, following his heart, loving what he did and never listening to others’ opinions that what he was up to might be impossible.
It really doesn’t matter what you’re up to creating in this world…a business, a family, a new idea….a gorgeous life…whatever it is, take Jobs’ words of wisdom and apply them into your life right now. Don’t give a rip what others have to say about your passion. Follow your heart where the Love is.
He “died” at age 56. A life truly Well Lived. Quality is what we’re all after; and Love brings the Quality to your endeavor. You feel that in your heart.

relaxing into well being (a story, part 1)
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
Letting go of human mind is directly proportional to one’s ability to relax and Trust in Well Being. Life transformation is simple; I never said it was easy. If you, like me, have been working, working, working at having the life you want and find yourself exactly where you’ve always been, then it’s not that the Universe isn’t answering you, because it is. It is simply that we keep creating the same conditions over and over again like n the movie, Groundhog Day. Conclusion: there’s a persistent belief in the black box of human mind that dis-allows your relaxing into Well Being so you can realize what you want. Allow me to share my story with you…
I recently realized that this was the case with myself. So in Applied Spirituality theory, I’m supposed to “play”, “relax”, and “have fun”. Do I believe that’s right and natural? Check. That belief feels right to me, but then I spend 12 hours a day working with my face buried in the computer, writing articles and posts, learning the technology, studying myriad subjects but never really paying attention to HOW I FEEL when I’m doing all this. I just do it. So accustomed am I (habituated) to the work ethic: head-down and sacrifice now for the future. I couldn’t see my own forest for the trees until the negative feeling became so big that I could no longer miss it.
I experienced myself less enthusiastic, less eager, and really not accomplishing much. Yes, I still be worked 12 hours a day, but without results and admittedly not much fun. I wasn’t playing either outside work nor within the work. It had become dull and lifeless to me. Slowly I realized this. And when I finally did, it felt like a powerless place to me – dead end. Now what do I do?
The box my human mind had cornered me into was this: if I wasn’t working, then I felt guilty playing. Deeper than that, however, was another operating belief: amount of work=amount of my worth. Ye gads. So I was in a bind – you know, that proverbial rock and hardplace that I write about. There I was. My human mind blathering about I’m only valuable if I’m working hard and my Self telling me to play, play, play and enjoy my life and through that attitude of joy, everything I want would come. My human mind, naturally, was sneering that that proposition.
Yet, the observable evidence was irrefutable. Working hard without joy was getting me nowhere. I was NOT happy. Something had to change; and it wasn’t something in the physical world of doing, because I’d been “doing” a lot. I had to let go…of what? I had to change something, but what? I had to let go of my human mind belief that work=my value; but then my human mind kept saying that if I stop working so hard, then what? Where will the dollars come from? This was a Trust issue. Clearly a rubber meets the road Waterloo moment. Just me and Me. Which would I choose?
When I listened to ‘me’ I already knew the outcome because I was living that: unhappy, lifeless, and going nowhere fast. When I listened to “Me”, I wanted to believe that all my Good would come if I could relax into Well Being and play. I realized my resistance to going there was because I didn’t Trust. Oh boy! So clearly I knew the direction I wanted to go – I wanted to be enjoying my life and abundant. In order to do so, I would have to TRUST. My human mind wanted me to think it was either/or…my Big Self knew the Truth.
Visions of the old parable, the Grasshopper and the Ant came roaring back. More human mind programming. I was literally assailed by my human mind ego to warn me off from even considering what Me was proposing – go play. Whilst Me sat quietly and patiently awaiting my arrival, not trying to entice me, but waiting for me to allow It. My human mind suggested I work at deliberate creation processes. Work. Work. Work!!!! I did, for awhile, and then stopped. My knowing is that life is natural. The birds don’t work for their worms; my garden is growing outrageously without any efforting. The planet spins on its axis quite well, the sun comes up every single day without any effort. Then life, my life, should be effortless as well.
My pea brain was unrelenting…”Allow? ALLOW??? No Effort??? Are you NUTS? You can’t let up for a minute! You’ll go broke. You’ll be lost forever! Work! Work! Work. That’s the way. That’s the ticket. It’s the way it’s done’ it’s the way it’s always been done.”
And so it went for weeks…with me walking the line between them. Not really working; and not really allowing. The results…the same in the physical world. Not much progress; not falling backwards…just unsatisfying mediocrity. Yuck!
Clearly I had reached a personal place within me that was illuminating the next place I had to LET GO in order to move forward, to evolve and expand. I had to relax into Well Being. I had to Trust at a deeper level; and in order to do so…I had to let go. Oh arg, arg, arg! Have you ever seen a kid at the swimming pool up on the diving board for the first time? He wants to dive in or jump in, but he can’t…yet. The line of kids getting longer behind him as he is stuck between his desire and his fear. Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no……Well consider that a good picture of where I’ve been.
I’m telling you all this in the gory detail, because this is an example of how it happens within all of us. The bind. Leap into faith and trust (and be ruined according to the human mind) or stay the course and be miserable. When I could at last see the choice to be made clearly, it was fairly simple. I didn’t want to live a mediocre life. I never have and I never will. So that propelled me to consider: what it would take for me to relax and Trust into Well Being.
Every been here? Tell me your thoughts and experience. I’d love to hear from you!

with malice towards none…even Osama bin Laden
Posted by: | Comments
If we rejoice at the death of another human being, how is it that we are any different than those who celebrated in the streets on 9/11?
A few days have passed since the death of Osama bin Laden, an event that came back to back with the Royal Wedding. The Wedding captivated us with Love, and we knew this because it felt Good and Life affirming. The report of bin Laden’s death did not feel good or life affirming. I’ve watched news accounts, read of the reactions of the American people. I’ve come to the conclusion that we are missing the point and a great opportunity. Abraham Lincoln would be disappointed.
“With malice toward none, with charity for all, …let us strive on to finish the work we are in, …to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”
Abraham Lincoln, Second Inaugural Address, Mar. 4, 1865 16th president of US (1809 – 1865)
The Law of Attraction exactly matches like-minded people, bringing them together in elegant ways. Such was 9/11. For the past 10 years we have been embroiled in the “war on terrorism” locked in combat by matching thoughts of hatred and fear. We are missing the opportunity to take the Ordinary Heroes Journey, which is the spiritual journey.
Frequently I am asked how “spirituality” has any relevance to everyday, real life like business, politics, or war. The answer is always the same, every creation on Earth is a spiritual event, for we are the focusers of Source Energy. Source Energy, the Field of Awareness, the Christed Consciousness, Infinite Intelligence, the Field of All Potential is the field of Energy from which we create. It is the same Energy that creates worlds. We draw that energy through us and what we focus It on, is what we create here on Earth.
We say that we are a Christian nation whose foundations are in the teaching of Jesus whose entire message was Love. Period. So we are charged with not to worship him, but rather to become more Love right here in this physical life. The spiritual journey, which is the Ordinary Heroes Journey, is to become the Love that we are by answering the Call to Adventure. The Spiritual Adventure is about clearing out the human ego mind, the black box of false beliefs, limiting perceptions and biases that we focus Source Energy through. Without doing the personal development work of the spiritual journey, no spiritual growth happens and we mis-create. This is how we create aberrations such as war, disease, poverty and all things that don’t feel Good, which are without Life. Without Life is what we call evil: the absence of Love.
Every spiritual journey is about clearing out your black box so that you can be more Life, more God, if you will, in your everyday human life. Every religion ought to be about that as well.
Osama bin Laden was a man who did not take the spiritual journey by answering the Hero’s Journey Call to Adventure. However, he gave us the greatest gift: the contrast. Would you like to be like him or not? In the face of something we do not like or love, the toughest question anyone can ask is, How am I like him? Without this self reflection there is no spiritual growth, and the Call to Adventure has been refused, the opportunity missed. The world doesn’t change except that each one of us answers the Call to Adventure and goes on the spiritual journey to be the Love that we are in our ordinary human lives.
Osama bin Laden refused the call of personal development and spiritual growth but gave us the opportunity to change and transform ourselves by his presence on the planet. Will you refuse the Call to Adventure? Or will you heed the call and take the Ordinary Heroes Journey and become more Love?
With malice towards none and charity for all…these are not empty words, nor is it impossible. We have a great opportunity to become More than what we have been. It is not a national movement, but it is a personal opportunity from which America The Nation of Love will spring forth. I hold that space.
If you would like to take that Ordinary Heroes Journey, begin right now. Go sign up for the Free Online Course delivered in 52 weekly messages at Applied Spirituality.com.

the ordinary hero’s journey of parenting
Posted by: | CommentsGood Morning Everyone,
What would it look like to be on your own Hero’s Journey and also be a good parent? It is the quintessential job of leadership by example. Children know when your actions aren’t matching your words or your vibration (thoughts, beliefs and intentions). They have really accurate Internal Guidance System; and this is what messes them up – your vibration gap.
You’ve all heard the phrase, “Don’t Do as I Do; Do As I Say?” or How about this one, “Because I’m your Mother/Father, and I say so.” Well, that’s the old parenting paradigm. These are the old dictatorial and unconscious parenting style. In other words, the parent doesn’t have to be held accountable for being in alignment and congruent with him/herself…but the kid is held to a higher standard for the parent.
Recently I did a radio interview on Unity.fm. It is a “conscious parenting” show where they endeavor to raise the children with awareness and intentionality. You can listen here
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
In this time of awakening, this is the perfect moment or situation where the parent gets to ask himself, “what would I need to shift or change in order to become congruent with mySelf?” For example if the parent is telling the child to turn off the television and go do his homework, and the child says, “Why do you get to watch television?” This is the moment where the conscious parent would stop and reflect, “Just why am I watching television or surfing the net or watching videos online?”
In the Hero’s Journey we are always confronted with the opportunity to do things differently by growing ourselves into the person we want our children to become. In this instance the assumption is that the parent wants the child to be well educated, self determining and self motivating in good, productive ways. Is it too late for the parent to shift? Of course not. This is the Hero’s Journey where the parent then reflects on the deeper issues involved in the child’s question as it pertains to her. Our Ordinary Hero stops and reflects: Why am I doing this? What (if anything) am I avoiding? What would I rather be doing that would serve me? Gee, I haven’t read a book in years. I would love to get back to my watercolors. I haven’t written in my journal for quite awhile.
The Hero Parent uses the information for their own personal growth and personal development, thus modeling to the child the ability and willingness to continue to expand and evolve personally. This is an example of conscious parenting; seeing the child as unique, valid being capable of reflecting back to you wise information if you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear. Knowing that just because you’re “grown up” and they are not, doesn’t mean you have all the answers and that they could very possibly have a clearer insight than you do.
When my elder son was a little guy, generally he was a very happy contented child. Very quickly I realized that the only time he ever cried was when I was out of alignment: I had shouted at him or misjudged a situation or was being unjust. In those very humbling moments I had the opportunity to “wake up”, get back into alignment with mySelf and do it over. I could breathe, apologize and open my heart back to Love. I could then reflect on why I got so upset. What did I think that meant? What could I let go of that closed my heart with fear?
The Ordinary Heroes’ Journey is everyday and every moment with whomever is in front of you at the moment – including your children.

PS I will be doing a return interview on Unity Family Matters on May 12, 2011.
building a new life
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
So you find yourself at a crossroad, do you? Time to do something else? What you’ve been doing isn’t working any longer for you? It’s not fulfilling or it’s just vaporized? Lucky you! You get to recreate your life any way you choose, if you’ll let go of what was, look forward, dream, and feeling your way into something that you love.
Endings are only beginnings, because everything you’ve ever done before has brought you to this new NOW moment of choosing again. You have to let go of preconceived ideas, outmoded beliefs and limiting concepts. Dream big. It’s not about the money, although when you’re happy doing what you do, the money naturally follows. Find that thing that blows your skirt up, knocks your socks off and go for it. Inch by inch, anything’s a cinch so my friend says. And she’s right. This life is about taking a mere thought and bringing it into physical reality: the internet, electricity, a new business idea that serves the planet. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s impossible; for there is nothing that you cannot be, do or have. You are Creator here on Earth and your imagination is where you begin molding the Energy into physical forms. Earth is your playground, dear Creator. Go play. This is Applied Spirituality: focusing your Source Energy in creating something new.
Here’s an excerpt from the online self study course to Well Done – A Story of Applied Spirituality which walks you through your next adventure step by step. If I could do it, so too, can you!

Earthquakes and Consciousness
Posted by: | CommentsHello Everyone,
I have been pondering powerful earthquakes. Having lived in Southern California for 30+ years, I’ve felt my share of temblors. For example the 1994 Northridge event which measured a 6.7. However, here are a list of quakes that have occurred so far this year:
- Magnitude 8.8 OFFSHORE MAULE, CHILE February 27, 2010
- Magnitude 7.0 RYUKYU ISLANDS, JAPAN February 26, 2010
- Magnitude 6.9 CHINA-RUSSIA-NORTH KOREA BORDER REGION February 18, 2010
- Magnitude 5.9 OFFSHORE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA February 04, 2010
- Magnitude 7.0 HAITI REGION January 12, 2010
I notice these things because I’m in the consciousness business which requires me to keep growing and expanding my own consciousness. To this end I’ve been taking a very intensive 7 week class which quite frankly has been kickin’ my wee butt. It’s not easy letting go of false beliefs, opening your heart and connecting with your own Center, leaving behind the old ways and embracing the new. It’s not easy for any of us. If it were, we’d all have already done the work and well, wouldn’t the world look a whole lot different that it currently does?
The reason I equate earthquakes with consciousness work (personal growth and development) is that they feel the same inside as an earthquake experience does in the physical world. The ground you “walked on” ( the old beliefs you embraced) are no longer there. It truly feels like your internal tectonic plates are shifting and upheaving literally leaving you with no internal horizon for awhile.
I’m just wondering if the magnitude of recent quakes in Chile, Haiti, San Fran, Japan and Russia are actually mirroring the great internal shifts happening within mankind…

I Am My Supply: Thoughts on Self Responsibility
Posted by: | CommentsGood Morning Everyone,
It occurred to me this morning that the television talk shows, punsters, and reality shows are all about “selling blame”. It’s about exploiting the idea of victimhood. The Republicans would have you believe it is the liberals that are going to sell your safety out; the liberals would have you think that it is the Republicans who are responsible for your fear. Your spouse, mother, father, great Aunt Tilda is responsible for your current situation. If not them, then it’s the state of the economy, it’s the lack of jobs, it’s the weather, it’s ….you fill in the blank.
It’s all about “them” and never about you. So you’re the victim to “them”. When the heck are we going to step up to the plate and realize that I am the creator of my experience, individually and collectively?
Did you really come to planet earth to play the role of victim? Did you really say to yourself, “Wow, I want to know what it feels like to feel powerless and inconsequential?” Did you imagine your journey on earth would be fun if you were to think of yourself as powerless?
I don’t think so.
Beware of anyone trying to make you more aware of feeling helpless and a victim. Anyone who exploits those feelings in you is manipulating you into thinking you are prey in life. And by God, you are not – unless, of course, that’s the role you consciously choose to play.
The deeper truth is this: you are certainly the creator of your experience, every bit of it. So, if you don’t like the experience you’re currently having, change it. Stop believing you are the victim. Stop believing “they” have all the cards. Stop believing that you are ineffectual, inconsequential and powerless. Just bloody well give it up. You are the Creator. You create your experience by what you believe to be true about yourself.
If you think you’re a victim, you will create every circumstance to prove that to be true for you by the Law of Attraction. If you believe yourself to be inconsequential and ineffectual, you will create those people and circumstances to prove that belief to be true, for you.
The way you change the channel is by taking responsibility for the experiences you are creating. What’s my part in this? How did I create this? What do I believe about myself? Once you get to that, you can CONSCIOUSLY shift that belief to value who you are. Once you exchange powerless to powerful, you start seeing a whole different set of people and circumstances show up to prove those new beliefs to be true.
Step up to the plate. You are Creator. Whatever you believe deep within yourself is what you will manifest. There’s no one to blame. It’s simply time to “pick up thy bed and walk”. You’re not dead, you’re not powerless, you’re not inconsequential. You’re powerful Creator. You are your supply.
Time to do the inner work, the work of personal growth, of Self-responsibility.
